Update some semantics flags updated to use enum (engine, framework, web) (#170696)
issue: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/166101,

new Updates :
Add new enum Tristate and CheckedState in for 7 flags.
For CheckState, it used to use 3 bools (hasCheck, isChecked,
isCheckStateMixed) to represent check states, replace them with a
CheckState enum.
For other 6 flags, each has 2 bools (hasXXState and isXX), replace them
with a Tristate enum.

This will be a breaking changes to the SemanticsFlags class , which was
added in April in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/166101 and
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/167771 , will write a breaking
change doc for this PR

feat: Added FocusNode prop for DropdownMenu Trailing Icon Button (#172753)
<!--

Added an API to control the FocusNode of DropdownMenu Trailing
IconButton.

This is also an improvement to [DropdownMenu
Focus](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/156412/) since
introducing the FocusNode to IconButton brings uniformity to the Focus
Traversal.

Previously there were two cases
- If FocusNode is passed to DropdownMenu, 3 ```tab``` presses were
required to focus the Trailing IconButton
- If FocusNode is not passed then 3 ```tab``` presses were needed for
MacOS, Windows & Linux Platforms and 2 for Android, iOS & Fuchsia.

This PR allows Focusing the IconButton by single ```tab``` press

Fixes #172687 by passing a FocusNode with ```skipTraversal:true```

Make component theme data defaults use WidgetStateProperty (#173893)
Coming from the comments in
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/173160#discussion_r2252303786

`MaterialStateProperty` is deprecated. This PR remplaces its usage with
`WidgetStateProperty` for the files that generates component theme data
defaults

- Description: On desktop/web platforms, VisualDensity.compact is
applied by default, which caused the issue as reported.
Previously, this compressed menus vertically.

In this PR:
- Vertical padding affected by visual density is removed to follow
[Material Design
specs](https://www.figma.com/community/file/1035203688168086460) so that
visual density should not affect vertical menu padding anymore. (*)
- Some of test values (y coordinate/height) are also updated to align
with this change and also add a regression test
    - Enhance `MenuAnchor` documentation to prevent user confusion.

## Implementation choice

This PR implements two main changes:
- it expands the `_DayPeriodControl` bounds by reducing some existing
spacing. Doing so the touch area of the AM/PM buttons can grow outside
the day period container and respect the minimum interactive height.
- it changes the tree order to correctly sized the AM/PM buttons
semantics. The solution here is somewhat tricky/hacky:

Because the semantics bounds are clipped by their ancestor, the PR
changes the widget order:

Before, the order was `_DayPeriodControl` > `_DayPeriodInputPadding` >
`Material` (with shape and clip) > `Row` (or Column depending on the
orientation) > children [ `Semantics` > AM `InkWell`, `Semantics` > PM
`InkWell` ]
(Which leads to the Semantics being clipped by the Material shape).

After, the order is `_DayPeriodControl` > `_DayPeriodInputPadding` >
`Row` (or Column depending on the orientation) > children [ `Semantics`
> `Material` (with shape and clip) > AM `InkWell`, `Semantics` >
`Material` (with shape and clip) > PM `InkWell` ]

The difficulty here is that the `TimePickerThemeData.dayPeriodShape` is
meant to be the shape for the whole day period container. In order to
change the order, this PR has to set separetly the shapes of the AM and
PM buttons. To do so it adds some logic to 'split' the shape in two
parts. This is ok for the default shape but not possible for any shape,
in that case the original shape will be use for both buttons which gives
a different result than before this PR. This annoyance seems less a
problem than having the default rendering not respecting a11y touch
targets.

Fix SegmentedButton focus issue (#173953)
## Description

This PR fixes SegmentedButton focus traversal.

# Before

When a focused segment (with no icon) is selected or unselected, the
focus moves to another segment.

In this recording, tab key is used to set the focus on 'Month' segment,
then enter is used to select the segment. The focus move unexpectedly to
'Week' segment.

# After

When a focused segment (with no icon) is selected or unselected, the
focus stays on this same segment and the InkWell animations are
correctly painted.

## Related Issue

Fixes [SegmentedButton keyboard navigation incorrectly moves focus on
click](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/161922)

## Implementation choice

The root of this issue is TextButton.icon which creates a different
widget tree depending on the icon.
See https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/173944 for more context.

The proposed solution is to maintain the same widget tree when possible.
To do TextButton.icon is not used. This PR uses on TextButton and build
a child containing both the icon (when present) and the label.
In order to keep the same rendering as before, some internal logic from
TextButton.icon is duplicated.

📝 Description
This PR improves the assertion error message in the Stack widget when it
receives unbounded constraints from its parent (e.g., when placed
directly inside a Column or ListView without a bounding widget).

 What Changed
Replaced a generic assertion:
<img width="1918" height="300" alt="Screenshot 2025-08-06 213549"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/24d90dfb-6876-4fa2-85ee-01c3c1efd7b8"
/>

With a detailed, developer-friendly message:
<img width="2388" height="630" alt="Screenshot 2025-08-07 011126"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d74bcd2a-5550-454c-9388-fa9aff9d9167"
/>

Fixes: #172481

This PR addresses the confusing assertion error when a Stack is given
unbounded constraints. By adding a descriptive message, developers will
have clearer guidance on how to resolve layout issues involving Stack
inside widgets like Column or ListView.

Improve SweepGradient angle and TileMode documentation (#172406)
# Improve SweepGradient and TileMode Documentation

## Description
This PR enhances the documentation for `SweepGradient` and `TileMode` to
provide clearer guidance on how angles are measured and how tile modes
affect sweep gradient rendering.

### Changes
1. **SweepGradient Documentation**:
   - Clarified angle measurement in radians from the positive x-axis
   - Documented angle normalization behavior for values outside [0, 2π]
- Added detailed explanations of how each `TileMode` affects rendering
outside the angular sector

2. **Gradient.sweep Constructor**:
   - Improved parameter documentation
- Added a practical example showing how to create a 90-degree sweep
gradient
   - Clarified the relationship between color stops and angles

3. **TileMode Documentation**:
   - Added sweep gradient-specific behavior to each `TileMode` variant
- Clarified how each mode (clamp, repeated, mirror, decal) affects
rendering outside the angular sector
   - Improved overall documentation structure for gradient edge behavior

## Related Issues
Fixes #166206

## Testing
- Verified documentation changes by reviewing the generated API docs
- Ensured all examples compile and render as expected

## Breaking Changes
None - this is purely a documentation improvement.

## Additional Notes
The changes make it much clearer how `startAngle` and `endAngle`
interact with different `TileMode` values, which was a source of
confusion in the original issue.

[a11y] : set isFocused will update isFocusable to true (#170935)
the isFocused and isFocusable flags should be more consistent,

this is also to prepare for

So all EditableText and TextField widgets will have isFocusable flag set
to true now. (because they set isFocused).

Fixes #82906

In the existing Flutter implementation, the Android stretch overscroll
effect is achieved using Transform. However, this approach does not
evenly stretch the screen as it does in the native Android environment.
Therefore, in the Impeller environment, add or modify files to implement
the effect using a fragment shader identical to the one used in native
Android.

> [!NOTE]
> - The addition of a separate test file for StretchOverscrollEffect was
not included because it would likely duplicate coverage already provided
by the changes made in overscroll_stretch_indicator_test.dart within
this PR.
>> However, since determining whether stretching occurred by referencing
global coordinates is currently considered impossible with the new
Fragment Shader approach, the code was modified to partially exclude the
relevant test logic in the Impeller.
>>
>> For reference, in the page_view_test.dart test, there was an issue
with referencing the child Transform widget, but because the
StretchOverscrollEffect widget is defined instead of the Transform
widget in the Impeller environment, the code logic was adjusted
accordingly.
>
> - Golden image tests were updated as the visual effect changes.

feat: add onLongPressUp callback to InkWell widget (#173221)
This PR introduces a new optional callback, onLongPressUp, to the
InkWell widget.
It allows developers to respond specifically to the moment when a long
press gesture is released, which previously was not directly exposed.

**Before**
There was no way to distinguish between the long press being held and
the moment it ended.

**After**
InkWell now accepts an onLongPressUp callback, which fires when the user
lifts their finger after a long press gesture.
This change enhances gesture handling granularity for widgets that
require different behaviors for long press hold and release.

Add error handling for Element lifecycle user callbacks (#173148)
This is for #172289, but since this fix is speculative so I'll wait for
the confirmation from the original reporters before closing the issue.

As a bonus this fixes #65655

The framework Element rebuild logic relies heavily on
`Element._lifecycleState` being correct. When a user-supplied lifecycle
callback (e.g., `State.deactivate`) fails the framework currently only
ensures that every `Element` in the tree has the right lifecycle state,
so an out-of-tree `Element` that is supposed to be disposed may still
have an `active` state and continue being rebuilt by the BuildScope
(because it's in the dirty list). See the comments in #172289

# TODO (in a different PR)
The original issue could also be caused by incorrect
`Element.updateChild` calls. If an `Element` subclass calls
`Element.updateChild` to add child but forgets to update its child list
accordingly (such that `visitChildren` misses that child), you'll get a
child Element that thinks it's a child of the parent but the parent
doesn't recognize the child so won't take that child into account during
reparenting or unmounting. This is a programmer error that we should try
to catch in the framework.

Implements the Android native stretch effect as a fragment shader (Impeller-only). (#169293)
> Sorry, Closing PR #169196 and reopening this in a new PR for clarity
and a cleaner commit history.

>>
>

Fix InputDecorator label padding (#173344)
## Description

This PR fixes the label padding for an InputDecorator with prefixIcon
and/or suffixIcon.

# Before

The label was shorter than the available space because
`InputDecoration.contentPadding.horizontal` was applied even when
`prefixIcon` and `suffixIcon` were defined. The icons width replaces the
corresponding `contentPadding`, so both should not be used at the same
time to compute the available space.

# After

Fix default minimumSize in dropdownMenu when maximumSize is null (#169438)

Previous change in `DropDownMenu`
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/162380 forced the menu width to
be constrained between the width or anchorWidth and the maximumSize
width menuStyle, but giving a minimum of zero when maximumSize was not
enforced or null. This prevents width or anchorWidth to be used at all
as the minimum will be zero always if maximumSize is null

Now this sets the default value back to width or anchorWidth if
maximumSize is null, keeping consistency of the previous configuration
while using the fix of maximumSize when provided.

Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/170970

Fix directional focus in nested scrollables with different axis (#172875)
<!--

Related issue : #172854
Fixes #160431

This PR fixes the focus when navigating with keyboard arrows or TV
remote d-pad in a nested lists with different axis and a fixed focusable
at the top.
It's a common setup for apps that deal with images or videos.

The problem is that when the vertical scrollbar has scrolled and you
want to scroll back to the top without the mouse, only using keyboard up
arrow to jump from widgets to widgets in the list until reaching the
top, the fixed top focusable widget wrongly takes the focus instead of
letting the vertical scrollable scroll.

I think the video bellow explain the problem better.

| Before this PR | After this PR |
|--------|--------|

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/54160e0c-abe5-4181-9aea-8351ce5f35b5
|
https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/eee32175-37eb-44a6-a7c2-a751fc82d592
|

Note that I had to edit two existing tests because they were failing
with my edits. However, I think these tests were testing a bad behavior.

For example here is the visualization of the `Focus traversal inside a
vertical scrollable scrolls to stay visible` test case before this PR :

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/be843ae8-a0df-411e-971c-3bf763c457e0

Test was green bug the focus behavior is weird. When pressing arrow down
from item 3 we would expect a scroll and item 4 to be focused, here it's
footer that is focused and when we press arrow down again item 5 is
focused and item 4 is skipped.

Here is the behavior after this PR and the test edited :

Fix ScaffoldGeometry null scale with noAnimation FAB (#172914)
Fixes #172866
When using FloatingActionButtonAnimator.noAnimation to disable FAB
animations, the ScaffoldGeometry logic that drives the BottomAppBar’s
notch and shape fails because the floatingActionButtonScale is null,
leading to a runtime error during the paint phase.

This fix ensures that when the noAnimation animator is used, the FAB
geometry is returned without applying any scale transformation, safely
bypassing the null floatingActionButtonScale and preventing the error.

Fix ReorderableList proxy animation for partial drag-back (#172380)
_**Note:** Alongside this PR, I've also prepared [another
PR](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/172882) with an alternative
solution involving a more substantial refactor that addresses the root
cause, rather than adding more conditional logic._

## Description

This PR fixes the proxy animation bug where dragging a `ReorderableList`
item downward and then back to its original position causes it to
animate to the wrong location (one position too low).

## The Problem

When dragging a `ReorderableList` item downward and then back to its
original position, the proxy widget briefly animates to the wrong
location (one position too low) before snapping to the correct spot.

**Reproduction**: Drag any item down past at least one other item, then
drag it back to where it started.

<p align="center">
<img
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d0931dff-5600-441c-8536-2c61789767d0"
alt="demo2" width="250">
</p>

## Root Cause

This bug is specific to dragging an item down and then bringing it back
up to nearly (but not 100% of the way ) to its original position:

1. When the item approaches its original position **from below**,
`_insertIndex` becomes `item.index + 1`
- This happens because Flutter's `ReorderableList` calculates
`_insertIndex` with the dragged item still present in the list (see
#24786)
2. The proxy _should_ animate to the item's original position at
`item.index`
    - _But the proxy actually animates one position too low._
    - This happens because `_dragEnd` incorrectly calculates
    `_finalDropPosition = _itemOffsetAt(_insertIndex! - 1) +
  _extentOffset(...)`
- The `_extentOffset(...)` addition, designed for items dropping
_between other items_, shifts the position down by one item's height
- The correct calculation for "returning home from below" should be just
`_itemOffsetAt(_insertIndex! - 1)`

Note that this only occurs when returning from below (`_insertIndex >
item.index`). Dragging upward (in a vertical list for example) or
doesn't trigger this bug.

## Existing Implementation

The existing `_dragEnd` method in `reorderable_list.dart`:

```dart
void _dragEnd(_DragInfo item) {
  setState(() {
    if (_insertIndex == item.index) {
      _finalDropPosition = _itemOffsetAt(_insertIndex!);
    } else if (_reverse) {
      if (_insertIndex! >= _items.length) {
        _finalDropPosition =
            _itemOffsetAt(_items.length - 1) - _extentOffset(item.itemExtent, _scrollDirection);
      } else {
        _finalDropPosition =
            _itemOffsetAt(_insertIndex!) +
            _extentOffset(_itemExtentAt(_insertIndex!), _scrollDirection);
      }
    } else {
      if (_insertIndex! == 0) {
        _finalDropPosition = _itemOffsetAt(0) -
          _extentOffset(item.itemExtent, _scrollDirection);
      } else {
        _finalDropPosition = _itemOffsetAt(_insertIndex! - 1) +
          _extentOffset(_itemExtentAt(_insertIndex! - 1), _scrollDirection);
      }
    }
  });
}
```

When returning from below, the code falls through to the final else
block, which incorrectly adds `_extentOffset`.

## Fix

Detect when `_insertIndex - item.index == 1` (indicating a return to
original position from below) and animate to the correct position.

```dart
if (_insertIndex! - item.index == 1) {
  // Drop at the original position when item returns from below
  _finalDropPosition = _itemOffsetAt(_insertIndex! - 1);
}
```

This fix was proposed by @frankpape in
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/90856#issuecomment-2599368939;
I've merely validated and researched the background of why the fix
works, and supported it with tests.

Fixes #88331
Fixes #90856
Fixes #150843

## A note about a previous PR:

While investigating this issue, I found a PR addressing what seemed to
be [the same exact
issue](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/150843): PR #151026; it
turns out that that PR solved a _portion_ of the edge case: the case
where an item is dragged down and back and slightly **overshoots** its
original position when being dragged back & dropped—but that PR did not
account for the presence of this bug when the dragged item slightly
**undershoots** its original position on the return drag. This new PR
effectively addresses the 'undershooting' case.

With this, I've added a new pair of regression tests that are identical
to the [previous PR's
tests](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/packages/flutter/test/widgets/reorderable_list_test.dart#L734),
except for the fact that they simulate an undershoot on the return trip
(90% of the way back instead of 110% like the original tests). This
definitively captures the issue, failing in the master branch and
passing in this PR's branch.

Here is the specific case resolved by the [**old**
PR](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/151026):
<table>
  <tr>
    <td align="center">
<img
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/b0ddc745-6e9e-4f12-97da-454e2e76b06d"

alt="After" width="200"><br>
      After
    </td>
  </tr>
</table>

Here is the additional case resolved by **this** PR:
<table>
  <tr>
    <td align="center">
<img
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/9b4bb591-aa2f-4cf0-88b8-a3ec32b0f0ac"

alt="After" width="200"><br>
      After
    </td>
  </tr>
</table>

Two final observations worth noting:
- The fix proposed in this PR seems to **supersede** the previous PR's
solution; it addresses both cases (overshooting and undershooting) even
in my tests with the [original PR's changes
](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/151026/files#diff-23a4bb073009d89f09084bdf5f85232de135b8f11be625e6312bb85900a90e67)
reverted. Probably best to keep the old PR's code anyway to be
conservative, but noteworthy.
- I also found it notable that neither this PR nor the older PR fix any
issue with "reversed lists", which, in my tests, are simply not subject
to this edge case as we've defined it. The regression tests added for
the reverse case are thus purely precautionary.
