[ios] Reland Dynamic Content Resizing (#179153)
This is a reland of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/177410 The previous pr was hitting deadlocks with tests that use screenshots. This reland fixes it by submitting frames asynchronously instead of synchronously. This PR fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/169147 This is the iOS implementation of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/149033 In Add-to-App scenarios, a common desired use case is to have the embedded FlutterView be able to size itself based on it's content. Up till now, the size had to be manually specified, which can be tedious and inaccurate. This PR adds a new flag, `isAutoResizable`, which enables the ability for the embedded flutter view to dynamically set it's own size based off it's content. Note that this feature will *NOT* work if the the embedded app is wrapped in flexible or unsized widgets, such as Scaffold. The FlutterView will just not display at all. To use the new flag, just set it like ``` flutterViewController.autoResizable = true; ``` or in Swift ``` flutterViewController.isAutoResizable = true ``` ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [x] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [x] I signed the [CLA]. - [x] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [x] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. |

Manually roll material_color_utilities (#170000)
This updates Flutter to the latest release, which includes a bunch of code cleanup that should improve compiled code size and (hopefully) runtime performance. The changes in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/153385 (discussed in https://docs.flutter.dev/release/breaking-changes/material-design-3-token-update) seem to have been incomplete. This PR effectively catches up with these changes by updating the "math" behind primary, secondary, tertiary, error colors. There is a pending PR on the site to update the corresponding docs: https://github.com/flutter/website/pull/12125 Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/177285 |

[Reland] Gradle Lockfile workaround (#178485)
Create a workaround for generating gradle lock files. When the ignore files exist, gradle locking will be disabled. This will allow deps for the embedder to be checked in, and then in a follow-up PR the lockfiles can correctly be updated and the ignore files can be deleted. Note: This does NOT include the addition of the new exifinterface dep for the Android embedder. Fix verified input test in CI (attempt 2) (#177961)
From looking closer at the logs, I think the failure is that the adb command isn't specifying the device. This passes locally because I only have one device, but then fails on CI. I missed this when looking at the [logs](https://logs.chromium.org/logs/flutter/buildbucket/cr-buildbucket/8699178787799824705/+/u/run_android_verified_input_test/stdout) originally: ``` [2025-11-03 15:50:32.967241] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] test_driver/main_test.dart 34:40 main.<fn>.<fn> [2025-11-03 15:50:35.960806] [STDOUT] stdout: [+2993 ms] Expected: <0> [2025-11-03 15:50:35.960858] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] Actual: <1> [2025-11-03 15:50:35.960898] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] package:matcher/src/expect/expect.dart 149:31 fail [2025-11-03 15:50:35.960906] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] package:matcher/src/expect/expect.dart 144:3 _expect [2025-11-03 15:50:35.960946] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] package:matcher/src/expect/expect.dart 56:3 expect [2025-11-03 15:50:35.960957] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] test_driver/main_test.dart 44:7 main.<fn> ``` The failed expect there isn't related to the verification, it is an expect on the exit code of the adb command: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/dev/integration_tests/android_verified_input/test_driver/main_test.dart#L44 So the adb command is failing on CI. I think it is for the reason above. This change makes the device id available to the driver tests that are run by the devicelab harness, and then pipes it through to ADB. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [x] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [x] I signed the [CLA]. - [ ] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. Re-enable android verified input devicelab test (#177804)
This was originally landed in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/140836/ but the pr did not hook it up to ci. It was then removed in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/162895/ First got the driver test running: `flutter drive -t lib/main.dart --driver test_driver/main_test.dart` from the directory of the test app then got the devicelab harness working via `../../bin/cache/dart-sdk/bin/dart bin/test_runner.dart test -t android_verified_input_test` from the `dev/devicelab` directory and then finally hooked up to ci with the configuration in the `.ci.yaml` Restoring in a passing state, in advance of landing https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/177572/ ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. Fix ElevatedButton.icon breaks focus traversal and VoiceOver when toggling icon (#177579)
## Description This PR changes `ElevatedButton.icon` to avoid building a different widget. When a different widget is created the whole subtree is recreated which leads to various issues (Focus and A11y issues for instance). The change is similar to https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/175810 which fixed the exact same problem for `OutlinedButton.icon`. ## Related Issue [TextButton.icon breaks focus traversal and ink effect when toggling icon](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/173944) [Voiceover focus traversal breaks if a button's state changes to include an icon](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/175810) ## Tests - Adds 2 tests |

Bump Templates To Correct Versions (#177416)
I bumped templates to the correct versions. I also included a fix for kgp and agp compatability. AGP 8.11.0 -> 8.11.1 Gradle 8.13 -> 8.14 KGP 2.2.0 -> 2.2.20 I ran `flutter analyze --suggestions` and `flutter build apk` to ensure these are safe versions. [web] Self-cleaning service worker (#176834)
Introduce a self-cleaning service worker to replace the old one. Previous attempts (https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/170918, https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/173609) had (accidentally?) disabled the loading of the service worker in `flutter.js`. This PR preserves the logic for loading the service worker, and it prints a deprecation warning. [HCPP] Properly remove hcpp views that are no longer visible (#176742)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/175882. This ended up being a very similar bug to https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/173881, and in my understanding comes from the same incorrect assumption. In old PV land these views would stop displaying if we stopped sending updates to them. But in HCPP the underlying implementation ends up using an Android SurfaceFlinger which continues displaying what it was last told to. So again we have a bug here were we aren't taking the new responsibility of clearing that we need to. See https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/173881#discussion_r2283287104 Other solutions would be to just always call hide on the set of (keys of view_params which are not in composition order) on every frame (which would avoid this mirroring of state), or to modify the jni here to pass over one big bundle with all the information required to do all the existing calls as well as determine which views need to be hidden. But we are already doing this same mirroring of visibility state for the overlay layer (see Hide/ShowOverlayLayerIfNeeded()), so I think it is reasonable to take the same approach here. This is sort of a follow up to https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/162908 as well, this PR properly removes the view when it is the last platform view, but does not fix the case that this PR attempts to more generally fix where we go from 2->1 (or n->n-1 > 0) pvs. Handle FlutterEngine registration when embedded in Multi-Scene apps (#176490)
When Multi-Scene is enabled, Flutter cannot automatically associate the engine with a scene during the scene connection phase in most cases. However, the `scene:willConnectToSession:options:` event is critical for some Flutter plugins that rely on scene connection options (the scene-equivalent of application launch options). To workaround this, this PR adds two things: * Adds a way to manually register a `FlutterEngine` with a `FlutterPluginSceneLifeCycleDelegate`. Manually registered engines must also be manually unregistered. * This use case is for add to app * Automatically registers a `FlutterEngine` if the `rootViewController` of the scene is a `FlutterViewController` * This use case is for if a Flutter app (not add-to-app) were to enable multi-scene since the `rootViewController` of the storyboard is a `FlutterViewController` This PR also makes a fix for when a `FlutterView` is removed from the scene: * If a `FlutterView` is removed from a scene, keep the `FlutterEngine` associated with the scene until it is assigned to a new scene ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. Add an AppDelegate callback for implicit FlutterEngines (#176240)
This PR introduces a new protocol `FlutterImplicitEngineDelegate`, which
adds a callback called `didInitializeImplicitFlutterEngine`, which
returns a new interface called `FlutterImplicitEngineBridge`.
This was added to expose parts of an implicit `FlutterEngine`, such as
when created from a `FlutterViewController` in a storyboard.
``` swift diff
@objc class AppDelegate: FlutterAppDelegate, FlutterImplicitEngineDelegate {
override func application(
_ application: UIApplication,
didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]?
) -> Bool {
return super.application(application, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: launchOptions)
}
}
func didInitializeImplicitFlutterEngine(_ engineBridge: FlutterImplicitEngineBridge) {
// Register plugins with `engineBridge.pluginRegistry`
GeneratedPluginRegistrant.register(with: engineBridge.pluginRegistry)
// Create method channels with `engineBridge.applicationRegistrar.messenger()`
let batteryChannel = FlutterMethodChannel(
name: "samples.flutter.dev/battery",
binaryMessenger: engineBridge.applicationRegistrar.messenger()
)
...
// Create platform views with `engineBridge.applicationRegistrar.messenger()`
let factory = FLNativeViewFactory(messenger: engineBridge.applicationRegistrar.messenger())
...
}
```
This PR also refactors `FlutterPluginRegistrar` into 3 separate
protocols:
* `FlutterBaseRegistrar`
* `FlutterApplicationRegistrar`
* `FlutterPluginRegistrar`
Most methods are moved from `FlutterPluginRegistrar` to
`FlutterBaseRegistrar` and then `FlutterPluginRegistrar` and
`FlutterApplicationRegistrar` inherit from `FlutterBaseRegistrar`.
`FlutterPluginRegistrar` also has additional methods specific to it -
there are no meaningful/breaking changes to `FlutterPluginRegistrar`.
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/173357.

Add state restoration for UIScene migration (#176305)
When an iOS app migrates to UIScene, the application events for handling state restoration are no longer called by UIKit. Instead, scene events in the SceneDelegate must be used. This PR adds support for handling state restoration in UIScene while still maintaining support for unmigrated apps, as well. Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/174402. Fix Voiceover traversal for OutlinedButton.icon (#175810)
Fixes #172489 When an OutlinedButton.icon is initially built with a null icon and later updated to display an icon, the underlying widget implementation changes. The button switches from a standard OutlinedButton to a private _OutlinedButtonWithIcon widget. This switch causes the button's entire semantic node to be destroyed and a new one created in its place. For screen readers like VoiceOver, this behavior is disruptive. If an accessibility service is focused on the button when its icon appears, that focus is lost because the original semantic node is discarded, leading to strange behaviour as it makes an best effort to focus on an existing node. This PR resolves the issue by ensuring the same widget is used regardless of whether the icon is present. The logic for _OutlinedButtonWithIcon has been merged into the base class OutlinedButton, ensuring that no matter if you call OutlinedButton.icon or OutlinedButton you recieve a widget of type OutlinedButton.
