[Impeller] Use device property uniform aligment instead of conservative value of 256. (#166884)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/132178 Rather than 256, use the device limits which may be substantially less. Metal uses existing values and GLES still uses 256. |

[web:skwasm] be consistent about handling imbalanced layer push/pop sequence (#166887)
Skwasm was the only renderer that enforced that the root layer cannot be popped. However, canvaskit and the native engines all allow popping the root layer. It's just a noop. Also, `EngineSceneBuilder` called `currentBuilder.build()` before checking if the layer that's being popped is a root layer. This means skwasm would call `rootLayer.build()` twice when push/pop are unbalanced. It is called once on the last `pop()` on the root layer. Then it is called again in `EngineSceneBuilder.build`. Not a guarantee, but this may help reduce the skwasm error rates from DevTools that look like this: ``` org-dartlang-sdk:///dart-sdk/lib/_internal/wasm/lib/error_utils.dart 130:15 | _throwIndexError org-dartlang-sdk:///dart-sdk/lib/_internal/wasm/lib/error_utils.dart 24:7 | checkIndexBCE org-dartlang-sdk:///lib/_engine/engine/scene_builder.dart 458:53 | pop file:///b/s/w/ir/x/w/rc/flutter/packages/flutter/lib/src/rendering/layer.dart 1520:13 | addToScene file:///b/s/w/ir/x/w/rc/flutter/packages/flutter/lib/src/rendering/layer.dart 721:5 | _addToSceneWithRetainedRendering file:///b/s/w/ir/x/w/rc/flutter/packages/flutter/lib/src/rendering/layer.dart 1519:5 | addToScene file:///b/s/w/ir/x/w/rc/flutter/packages/flutter/lib/src/rendering/layer.dart 721:5 | _addToSceneWithRetainedRendering ``` |

Migrate in-comment links of the flutter/engine repository to the flutter/flutter repository (#166790)
This PR migrates almost all in-comment links that points to the main branch of flutter/engine repository to the flutter/flutter repository, ensuring that such links are always up to date. I've manually verified that all links are valid. There are a few cases where the migration is not so trivial and I had to look up for the updated location or line number, but I'm pretty sure the new value is correct. The only place that I don't know how to migrate is two links in [Upgrading-pre-1.12-Android-projects.md](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/docs/platforms/android/Upgrading-pre-1.12-Android-projects.md) pointing to `https://github.com/flutter/engine/blob/main/shell/platform/android/io/flutter/app/FlutterActivity.java`, which I guess no longer exists. There are still many links that point to a specific branch or revision of the engine repo. I don't think we need to migrate these links, since they're probably not meant to be kept up to date. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [ ] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [ ] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [ ] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [ ] I signed the [CLA]. - [ ] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [ ] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [ ] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [ ] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [ ] All existing and new tests are passing. [Impeller] Tessellate paths directly using PathReceiver (#166759)
Currently Impeller asks incoming paths to convert themselves into the impeller::Path class before tessellating their outlines. This wastes conversion time when the path is only needed to iterate the path segments. We now tessellate them directly from a path segment dispatcher saving the conversion cost. |

This change reverts the following previous change:
Currently when using a `CustomScrollView`, screen readers cannot list or
move focus to elements that are outside the current Viewport and cache
extent because we do not create semantic nodes for these elements.
This change introduces `SliverEnsureSemantics` which ensures its sliver
child is included in the semantics tree, whether or not it is currently
visible on the screen or within the cache extent. This way screen
readers are aware the elements are there and can navigate to them /
create accessibility traversal menus with this information.
* Under the hood a new flag has been added to `RenderSliver` called
`ensureSemantics`. `RenderViewportBase` uses this in its
`visitChildrenForSemantics` to ensure a sliver is visited when creating
the semantics tree. Previously a sliver was not visited if it was not
visible or within the cache extent. `RenderViewportBase` also uses this
in `describeSemanticsClip` and `describeApproximatePaintClip` to ensure
a sliver child that wants to "ensure semantics" is not clipped out if it
is not currently visible in the viewport or outside the cache extent.
* `RenderSliverMultiBoxAdaptor.semanticBounds` now leverages its first
child as an anchor for assistive technologies to be able to reach it if
the Sliver is a child of `SliverEnsureSemantics`. If not it will still
be dropped from the semantics tree.
* `RenderProxySliver` now considers child overrides of `semanticBounds`.
On the engine side we move from using a joystick method to scroll with
`SemanticsAction.scrollUp` and `SemanticsAction.scrollDown` to using
`SemanticsAction.scrollToOffset` completely letting the browser drive
the scrolling with its current dom scroll position "scrollTop" or
"scrollLeft". This is possible by calculating the total quantity of
content under the scrollable and sizing the scroll element based on
that.

SliverEnsureSemantics (#165589)
This is possible by calculating the total quantity of
content under the scrollable and sizing the scroll element based on
that.

This is a reland of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/164748, which was reverted here: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/165350 It was reverted due to some issues in the flutter packages roller: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/165347 The unit test in flutter/packages was modified to be more deterministic and less affected by minor timing differences: https://github.com/flutter/packages/pull/8920 So this is basically being relanded without any significant changes, since the downstream tests have been fixed. |

[dart:ui] Add Path.addRSuperellipse (#166045)
This PR adds `Path.addRSuperellipse` to `dart:ui`. This is needed to implement a parity class to `RoundedRectangleBorder` as discussed [here](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/164857#issuecomment-2715637356). <details> <summary> Obsolete description, no longer applicable </summary> I want to reuse the existing algorithm created for impeller stroking. The existing algorithm is moved from `path_builder.cc` to `round_superellipse_param.cc`, and a delegated is added so that the same algorithm can output for different path classes. I'm not 100% sure this is _the_ best way to implement this, but I've tried some methods in vain. * `DlPathReceiver` added in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/164753 sounds like a similar concept as the delegate created in this PR. I tried to use that but not only are the methods private, they're neither in an accessible directory. * I also thought of converting an impeller `Path` to a skia path, but it seems that the impeller path isn't designed to be traversed. * Another possibility is that we refactor impeller stroking to be based on the triangles instead of path, a direction we agreed to eventually move toward, which allows avoiding code share at all. I've briefly read the code in `StrokePathGeometry` and have some ideas but also something uncertain, so I didn't choose this path for now. </details> ## Pre-launch Checklist - [ ] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. [Impeller] handle shader ordering bug on macOS. (#165937)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/165740 if a user declares interleaved `float` and `sampler2D` uniforms, then we can screw up the binding order. This only manifests on platforms where we don't combine all float/scalar uniform values into a single struct. We should probably start doing that for metal, but refactoring there is out of scope for this patch. I enabled a large number of skipped tests we probably should have turned on by now. oops. --------- Co-authored-by: gaaclarke <30870216+gaaclarke@users.noreply.github.com> |

[web] Remove package:js in favor of dart:js_interop (#165324)
Removes package:js and uses dart:js_interop instead This is taken directly from https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/164254 and will be iterated on. ---- Initial commit is the original PR % rebasing. [Engine] RSuperellipse.contains that reuses C++ implementation (#164857)
This PR implements `RSuperellipse.contains`. Different from the previous attempt https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/164517, this PR leverages the existing C++ implementation via FFI. Add debug json mechanism for EngineSceneBuilder. (#165821)
I added some debugging mechanisms that can help create a minimal test case more easily: * In debug mode, you can press `Alt+F10` and the engine will generate a JSON representation of the most recently rendered scene and download it. * Added a script called `generate_scene_test.dart` which can take that JSON and generate a dart file which renders a scene with the identical hierarchy and layout. All the pictures are rendered as squares with random-ish colors. |

Add set semantics enabled API and wire iOS a11y bridge (#161265)
fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/158399 old pr https://github.com/flutter/engine/pull/56691 previously the only correct way to enable semantics is that ios embedding receive signal from native OS, it call SetSemanticsEnabled to shell and then to dart to enable semantics tree generation. If for some reason framework decide to enable semantics first, e.g. through SemanticsBinding.instance.ensureSemantics(typically due to integration test or ci that wants to test semantics), the update will be dropped in shell. Even if it later on receive signal from native OS to turn on semantics, it can't construct the complete accessibility tree in embedding because the updatesemantics sends diff update and previous updates are gone forever. It will end up in a broken state. This pr changes so that the only source of truth will be in the framework side. When framework starts generating the the semantics tree, it will call SetSemanticsTreeEnabled through dart:ui, and the embedding needs to prepare itself to accept semantics update after receiving the message. This however require some refactoring on iOS embedding because it will only create a11y bridge when receiving OS notification when assitive technologies turns on. This requires three phase transition add an empty dart:ui API setSemanticsTreeEnabled makes framework calls the empty API. merge this pr with actual implementation of setSemanticsTreeEnabled I will do the android part in a separate pr ## Pre-launch Checklist - [ ] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. Add remaining dart fixes for Color deprecations when importing painting.dart (#162609)
Towards https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160617 Noticed the `opacity` and `withOpacity` deprecations were supported by dart fix, but not the others. Adding them here. But strange too given `dart:ui` does not support dart fix (https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/59764).. --- We think since `painting.dart` exports `dart:ui`, this is somewhat of a workaround. If a user has this atop their file: ```dart import 'package:flutter/painting.dart'; // 👍 dart fix will work here ``` If instead ```dart import 'dart:ui'; // ❌ dart fix will not work here ``` Will continue to follow up on dart fix support for `dart:X` libraries, for now hopefully this will help! ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [x] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [x] I signed the [CLA]. - [x] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [x] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. [Accessibility] Add required semantics flags (#164585)
This adds "required" semantic nodes, which indicate a node that requires user input before a form can be submitted. On Flutter Web, these get converted into [`aria-required` attributes](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-required). Addresses https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/162139 ### Example app _⚠️ This example app includes a `DropdownMenu` which currently produces an incorrect semantics tree. That will be fixed by https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/163638._ Today, you wrap your control in a `Semantics(required: true, child ...)`. For example: <details> <summary>Example app with required semantic flags...</summary> ```dart import 'dart:ui'; import 'package:flutter/material.dart'; import 'package:flutter/semantics.dart'; void main() { runApp(const MyApp()); SemanticsBinding.instance.ensureSemantics(); } class MyApp extends StatelessWidget { const MyApp({super.key}); @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return MaterialApp(home: Scaffold(body: const MyForm())); } } class MyForm extends StatefulWidget { const MyForm({super.key}); @override State<MyForm> createState() => MyFormState(); } class MyFormState extends State<MyForm> { int _dropdownValue = 0; bool _checkboxValue = false; int _radioGroupValue = 0; @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return Column( crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.start, children: [ Semantics(required: true, child: TextField()), Semantics( required: true, child: DropdownMenu<int>( initialSelection: _dropdownValue, onSelected: (value) => Write macOS universal gen_snapshot binaries to a separate output directory (#164667)
Also use the name "gen_snapshot" when building for Android targets instead of appending a target architecture to the filename. This allows flutter_tools to find the universal gen_snapshot binary when using a locally built engine. Previously the tools would search directories like "clang_x64" and find build outputs that may not match the host architecture. Moving the universal gen_snapshot binary to a separate directory avoids conflicts with Dart's gen_snapshot binary, which is placed at the root of the target output directory. |

[skwasm] Dynamic Threading (#164748)
This switches skwasm over from the emscripten pthreads implementation to emscripten's "wasm workers" threading implementation. The pthreads implementation simply will not run at all in a non-crossOriginIsolated context, but the wasm workers implementation only fails if we actually attempt to spawn a thread. This means we can actually choose whether to use a single-threaded or multi-threaded strategy at runtime, which means we don't have to build two variants of skwasm for single- vs multi-threaded. |

[web] Detect scrollable semantics nodes more reliably (#164491)
When a text field is inside a scrollable, and the virtual keyboard shows up, it (sometimes) makes the scrollable semantics node have a 0 extent. In the web engine, we detect that as a change of roles (from scrollable to generic) which causes a DOM mutation above the text field, so the browser shifts focus to the `<body>`. In order to avoid this bug, this PR changes how we detect a scrollable node by checking for the [`hasImplicitScrolling`](https://api.flutter.dev/flutter/dart-ui/SemanticsFlag/hasImplicitScrolling-constant.html) flag.
