Remove nonstandard ndkpath for hybrid_android_views integration test (#181666)
This is not true any more, since https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/179920 This was only triggered on ci because that environment var isn't set elsewhere. Co-authored-by: Gray Mackall <mackall@google.com> |

Add TestWidgetsApp utility and refactor widget tests to use WidgetsApp (#180456)
This PR introduces a TestWidgetsApp utility class that provides a minimal WidgetsApp wrapper for widget tests, replacing direct usage of Directionality widgets. part of: #177415 ## Changes - test_widgets_app.dart - A reusable TestWidgetsApp widget that wraps WidgetsApp with a builder pattern, providing Directionality, MediaQuery, and other app-level widgets that WidgetsApp provides. - gesture_detector_test.dart - Replaced 9 Directionality usages - mouse_region_test.dart - Replaced 13 Directionality usages - opacity_test.dart - Replaced 2 Directionality usages - slivers_evil_test.dart - Replaced 3 Directionality usages and removed redundant MediaQuery wrappers ## Note - This PR updates golden test baselines for opacity_test.dart. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [x] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [x] I signed the [CLA]. - [x] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [x] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [ ] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [ ] All existing and new tests are passing. |

Deprecate onReorder callback (#178242)
This pull request deprecates the old `onReorder` callback of `ReorderableList` / `SliverReorderableList` / `ReorderableListView`, in favor of a new callback, `onReorderItem`, that does the index correction as mentioned in the docs at https://api.flutter.dev/flutter/widgets/ReorderCallback.html I added tests to ensure that the old callback is preferred when both are provided and tests that assert that the new callback does the index correction correctly. I also noticed that some tests used empty callbacks for `onReorder`, those have been updated to use wildcards in a consistent manner. I did not opt into making a design doc, since the change itself is very small, that will also be apparent in the migration guide that I am going to write. Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/127901 Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/169878 *If you had to change anything in the [flutter/tests] repo, include a link to the migration guide as per the [breaking change policy].* TODO: add a migration guide on the website ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [ ] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. [Reland] Don't strip symbols from libapp.so on android by default (#181275)
Relands https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/162464 Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/170664 The only test that failed last time was `Linux_pixel_7pro android_obfuscate_test`, and I ran it locally (`flutter test test/integration.shard/android_obfuscate_test.dart `) to both repro the failure and verify it passes on this branch with the additional changes. Also does some stuff in the FGP: The reason we failed the tests last time was we were bundling of the libapp.so code into a jar in the aar case, instead of simply including it as its own file in the source sets. I let gemini go on that part, modifying it to no longer pack as a jar, but it looks correct to me. Now that the `libapp.so` file is simply included in this case, AGP is able to strip it (it's not hidden inside a jar). Because this changes the FGP build process for add to app, I manually verified that the add to app flow isn't broken for including a flutter module both as source and as an aar. <details> <summary>Before and after logs from the gradle task output</summary> Before: ``` > Task :flutter:stripReleaseDebugSymbols NO-SOURCE Skipping task ':flutter:stripReleaseDebugSymbols' as it has no source files and no previous output files. ``` After: ``` Task ':flutter:stripReleaseDebugSymbols' is not up-to-date because: No history is available. Remove unnecessary Material import from sliver_visibility_test (#181248)
<!-- Thanks for filing a pull request! Reviewers are typically assigned within a week of filing a request. To learn more about code review, see our documentation on Tree Hygiene: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/main/docs/contributing/Tree-hygiene.md --> Remove the Material import from sliver_visibility_test.dart since it's only testing SliverVisibility, a widgets-level component. The test doesn't need Material-specific functionality - it only uses DefaultWidgetsLocalizations.delegate which provides sufficient localization support. Changes: - Replaced `import 'package:flutter/material.dart'` with `import 'package:flutter/widgets.dart'` - Removed `DefaultMaterialLocalizations.delegate` from the localizations delegates list This helps with the decoupling of Material and Cupertino from the core framework. Broaden the applicability of Color fix_data rules from flutter/painting.dart (#181093)
See the conversation at https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/59764#issuecomment-3599823329 for more context. Prior to this, these `Color` fix_data rules would only be visible to users that explicitly import `package: flutter/painting.dart`. This PR broadens the applicability of these rules so they are visible for users that import `dart:ui`, or import any one of the `flutter/` packages that expose `Color`. #### Enabling `Color` fix_data fixes for `dart:ui`: - Adds a `fix_data.yaml` file for `'dart:ui'` fixes to `engine/src/flutter/lib/ui/`. This contains `Color` fixes copied from `packages/flutter/lib/fix_data/fix_painting.yaml`. - Typically `fix_data` files go in a Dart package's `lib/` directory. But `dart:ui` is not a standard Dart package and doesn't have a typical `lib` directory. This directory is the closest thing to a `lib` directory for the `dart:ui` package that I can find. It contains the Dart code that implements the `dart:ui` package. - The actual Dart package for `dart:ui` is generated by `engine/src/flutter/sky/packages/sky_engine/BUILD.gn` with the package name `sky_engine`. I updated the build rule to copy the new `fix_data.yaml` file into the generated `sky_engine/lib/` directory. #### Enabling `Color` fix_data fixes for `package:flutter/` libraries: - The `Color` fixes from `packages/flutter/lib/fix_data/fix_painting.yaml` are remove, and copied to over to a new `packages/flutter/lib/fix_data/fix_dart_ui.yaml` file. - This fix_data file specifies all the `flutter/` libraries which export `Color`. With this change, importing any of these libraries will surface the `Color` fixes, rather than only surfacing the fixes only when `package:flutter/painting.dart` is specifically imported. #### Other related changes - Updates some entries in `fix_cupertino.yaml` and `fix_material.yaml` which used the old `Color.withOpacity` method. - Updates existing flutter package `test_fixes` tests. - The color tests from the `painting` `test_fixes` test are moved to a new `dart_ui` test. Note that this only runs the test with only one of the `flutter/` libraries specified in `fix_dart_ui.yaml` (`animation.dart`). Ideally I think we should run this test while independently importing each one of the `flutter/` libraries specified in `fix_dart_ui.yaml`. But AFAICT there's no easy way to do this without creating a lot of duplicate code. - There is no `fix_data` test for `dart:ui`. Because this isn't a standard Dart library, I don't think there's an easy way to test its `fix_data.yaml` in a similar way to the `flutter/` library fixes. Somewhat fixes #180933 (makes the fixes more broadly available). Somewhat addresses https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/59764#issuecomment-3599823329 (establishes a way to use `fix_data.yaml` files for `dart:X` libraries). - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. [ Widget Preview ] Fix crash when @Preview annotations appeared outside of lib/ (#180768)
The widget preview scaffold requires that previews are defined within importable libraries. Since Dart does not support absolute paths for imports or relative imports outside of the project, it's not possible for the widget previewer to display previews defined outside of `lib/`. This change updates the preview detector to ignore libraries that don't have a package name (e.g., libraries under `test/`) and updates `packageName` properties to not allow for null to make it clear that package names are required for previews. fix(windows): use wcsnlen for defensive programming (CWE-126) (#180419)
## Description This PR replaces `wcslen` with `wcsnlen` in the Windows runner template and all example/dev/integration test files to address CWE-126 (Buffer Over-read) flagged by static analysis tools (Semgrep/GitLab SAST). ## Changes The `Utf8FromUtf16` function now uses `wcsnlen` with the `UNICODE_STRING_MAX_CHARS` constant (32767) as the maximum length, providing defensive programming against potential buffer over-reads. **Key improvements:** 1. Calculate `input_length` **first** using `wcsnlen(utf16_string, UNICODE_STRING_MAX_CHARS)` 2. Use that bounded length for **both** `WideCharToMultiByte` calls (eliminates the `-1` unbounded read) 3. Remove the `-1` adjustment since explicit length excludes null terminator 4. Use `static_cast` instead of C-style casts per Google C++ Style Guide ## Test Coverage Added comprehensive edge case tests for `Utf8FromUtf16` in `windows_startup_test`: - **nullptr input**: Verifies function returns empty string - **Empty string input**: Verifies function returns empty string - **Invalid UTF-16 (unpaired surrogate)**: Verifies function handles malformed input gracefully These tests address reviewer feedback from @loic-sharma requesting coverage for corner cases. ## Files Updated **Template (source of truth):** - `packages/flutter_tools/templates/app/windows.tmpl/runner/utils.cpp` **Integration tests (4 files):** - `dev/integration_tests/flutter_gallery/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/ui/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/windowing_test/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/windows/runner/utils.cpp` **Examples and dev apps (10 files):** - `examples/hello_world/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/layers/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/platform_view/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/flutter_view/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/platform_channel/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/api/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/multiple_windows/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/manual_tests/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/benchmarks/complex_layout/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/a11y_assessments/windows/runner/utils.cpp` **Test files (4 files):** - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/windows/runner/flutter_window.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/lib/main.dart` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/lib/windows.dart` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/test_driver/main_test.dart` ## Rationale While the Windows API guarantees null-termination for strings returned by `CommandLineToArgvW`, using `wcsnlen` with an explicit bound is a defensive programming best practice that: - Satisfies static analysis tools - Provides an extra safety layer - Follows the principle of defense in depth The limit of 32767 (`UNICODE_STRING_MAX_CHARS`) is the maximum length of a `UNICODE_STRING` structure and is far beyond any realistic command-line argument length. ## Related Issues Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/180418 ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and labeled this PR with `severe: API break` if it contains a breaking change. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. Manually roll test dependencies (#180886)
Manually updating test dependencies because the pub autoroller seems busted, https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/180503. This one required manually updating the pubspec files because `flutter update-packages --force-upgrade` also seemed unable to deal with the fact that multiple dependencies across packages had to be updated in sync. There's probably also something broken with the `flutter update-packages` command. This is something that used to work. |

This PR fixes the problem by running the `hook_user_defines` and `link_hook` integration tests as part of the tools integration test shard. One of the tests actually broke while it wasn't running on CI. This is fixed by removing it from the workspace to ensure the local user-defines in its pubspec are applied. |

There is a lot of cross-library importing in the framework unit tests that I'd like to clean up, see the design doc for more: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UHxALQqCbmgjnM1RNV9xE2pK3IGyx-UktGX1D7hYCjs/edit?tab=t.0 This PR cleans up a few obvious instances and adds TODOs for others. I created this while doing an investigation for the design doc linked above. I hope that we'll be able to follow up with fixes for all of the problematic tests (tracked in the issue below). Test cross import lint (#178693)
This PR adds a lint rule to catch imports between Material, Cupertino, and Widgets in tests. Spun out of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/177029 and the [Decoupling Tests design doc](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UHxALQqCbmgjnM1RNV9xE2pK3IGyx-UktGX1D7hYCjs/edit?pli=1&tab=t.0). For now, Material will be the place to put tests that need to import both Material and Cupertino. See https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/178693#discussion_r2550510287. I used https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/130523 as a reference to create this PR. --------- Co-authored-by: Loïc Sharma <737941+loic-sharma@users.noreply.github.com> |

Moved high bitrate texture tests to engine (#179906)

Platform View Hide/Show Integration test (#179902)
Adds an integration test that would have caught the issue with https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/176063 The test is simple. It hides, shows, then hides at platform view. If the issue is present, the UI will be come frozen and the button text will not correctly update. So you'll see no platform view showing, but the button will read, "Hide Platform View" instead of "Show Platform View". Checking this through the FlutterDriver is not enough (because the widget tree is updated). The actual UI rendered to the Android device needs to be checked (thus the golden screenshot is necessary). Adding this integration test should ensure content sizing does not cause this issue again. Test failing with Content Sizing changes: [PlatformView Integration Test Failing.webm](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/c6b5f5e9-1856-4baf-a425-b4d2a38b8d57) Test passing with Content Sizing changes w/fix: [PlatformView Integration Test Passing.webm](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/104acd01-895e-4321-881b-fe5aa2d96d63) ## Pre-launch Checklist - [X] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [X] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [X] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [X] All existing and new tests are passing. |

[Reland] Unmodified android sdk bundle (#179920)
Relands https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/179647 There were only two failing tests (there were also two bringup failures, the `mac_arm64_mokey` versions of these) https://ci.chromium.org/ui/p/flutter/builders/prod/Mac_mokey%20run_release_test/3866/overview https://ci.chromium.org/ui/p/flutter/builders/prod/Mac_mokey%20run_debug_test_android/5454/overview They failed with the same logs ``` Task result: { "success": false, "reason": "Task failed: flutter run had unexpected output on standard error." } ``` The stderr in question: ``` [2025-12-15 14:06:56.311794] [STDOUT] run:stderr: - integration_test requires Android NDK 28.2.13676358 [2025-12-15 14:06:56.311989] [STDOUT] run:stderr: Fix this issue by using the highest Android NDK version (they are backward compatible). [2025-12-15 14:06:56.312205] [STDOUT] run:stderr: } ``` We can just set the ndk version to `flutter.ndkVersion`, which is this value. It's also what is set in the templates, so it isn't a hack that doesn't represent a real flutter app. Verified the tests pass now with ``` ../../bin/cache/dart-sdk/bin/dart bin/test_runner.dart test -t run_release_test ../../bin/cache/dart-sdk/bin/dart bin/test_runner.dart test -t run_debug_test_android ``` ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. Unpin package:dwds dependency (#179462)
Refactoring of code in `package:dwds` `26.2.1` changed execution ordering enough for a race condition in the web benchmark harness to be hit. [ios] Reland Dynamic Content Resizing (#179153)
This is a reland of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/177410 The previous pr was hitting deadlocks with tests that use screenshots. This reland fixes it by submitting frames asynchronously instead of synchronously. This PR fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/169147 This is the iOS implementation of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/149033 In Add-to-App scenarios, a common desired use case is to have the embedded FlutterView be able to size itself based on it's content. Up till now, the size had to be manually specified, which can be tedious and inaccurate. This PR adds a new flag, `isAutoResizable`, which enables the ability for the embedded flutter view to dynamically set it's own size based off it's content. Note that this feature will *NOT* work if the the embedded app is wrapped in flexible or unsized widgets, such as Scaffold. The FlutterView will just not display at all. To use the new flag, just set it like ``` flutterViewController.autoResizable = true; ``` or in Swift ``` flutterViewController.isAutoResizable = true ``` ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. |

Delete unecessary lockfile (#179052)
Deleted `project-url_launcher.lockfile` from macrobenchmarks. This is no longer a necessary lockfile because the url_launcher dependency was removed from macrobenchmarks pubspec a while ago [here](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/126939). Also ran [generate_gradle_lockfiles.dart](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/dev/tools/bin/generate_gradle_lockfiles.dart) as a sanity check. - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. Add shared Darwin implementation for plugins (#176495)
This PR introduces support for creating Flutter plugins with a single, shared implementation for iOS and macOS. This is enabled by a new darwin platform option in the flutter create command, which simplifies code maintenance and reduces duplication for plugin authors. *List which issues are fixed by this PR. You must list at least one issue. An issue is not required if the PR fixes something trivial like a typo.* Fixes #161019 *If you had to change anything in the [flutter/tests] repo, include a link to the migration guide as per the [breaking change policy].* ## Pre-launch Checklist - [X] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [X] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [X] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [X] All existing and new tests are passing.
