[ Tool ] Add support for linux riscv64 architecture (#178711)
This adds support for buildind desktop linux applications for riscv64 on the flutter tool, as well as basic riscv64 support for the tool. This is a first move towards fixing #99963. Along with https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/178712 that allows building an engine for `riscv64`, this PR allows me to build and run the flutter 'hello world' app on RISC-V hardware: <img width="1920" height="1080" alt="Screenshot from 2025-11-18 08-58-03" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/5e90bc7f-49a7-41a8-82b7-5a5d3247938a" /> This allows someone who built a flutter engine and exposed it on a webserver to run commands like: ``` export FLUTTER_STORAGE_BASE_URL=http://your-server-url flutter flutter doctor cd example/hello_world && flutter build linux ``` This means that even if Google does not want to support Flutter on RISC-V officially (hosting the artifacts), community-managed servers could host the RISC-V flutter engines/artifacts. [AGP 9] Added Flutter Errors (#179765)
Added Flutter errors that direct users to Updating to AGP 9 Flutter docs. The doc outlines the changes that must be made in order to successfully build Flutter apps on Android using AGP 9+. As of this moment, the doc has yet to be written. The errors just have to be cherry picked to stable and beta by Tuesday, 12/16. Filter out FrameEvents/updateAcquireFence log spam from adb logcat (#179884)
## Problem When using platform views like Google Maps on Android, the console gets flooded with messages like: ``` E/FrameEvents(26685): updateAcquireFence: Did not find frame. E/FrameEvents(26685): updateAcquireFence: Did not find frame. E/FrameEvents(26685): updateAcquireFence: Did not find frame. ... (repeats many times) ``` This makes it hard to see actual errors and warnings in the console. ## Cause This is a HWUI bug in Android, not an actual error. [ Tool ] Add Stream.transformWithCallSite to provide more useful stack traces (#177470)
Exceptions thrown within a stream transformer don't provide any context as to where the call to `transform(...)` occurred within the program, often resulting in stack traces consisting of only Dart SDK sources. This change adds a new extension method on `Stream` called `transformWithCallSite`, which captures the current `StackTrace` upon invocation. Bump Templates To Correct Versions (#177416)
I bumped templates to the correct versions. I also included a fix for kgp and agp compatability. AGP 8.11.0 -> 8.11.1 Gradle 8.13 -> 8.14 KGP 2.2.0 -> 2.2.20 I ran `flutter analyze --suggestions` and `flutter build apk` to ensure these are safe versions. Will cherry pick this to beta after the pr merges. Fix Xcode cache errors (#175659)
This PR fixes a race condition that causes intermittent build failures on iOS with errors like no such file or directory. These failures were frequently observed in CI tests running on macOS. The root cause is that the background wireless device discovery process, which uses `devicectl`, was not being terminated after a target device was selected. This background process could then delete Xcode's module caches while `xcodebuild` was actively using them, leading to a build failure. The fix ensures that the wireless device discovery process is explicitly stopped at all logical exit points of the device discovery flow. This is achieved by calling stopExtendedWirelessDeviceDiscovery() as soon as: - A single specified device is found and validated. - An ephemeral device is chosen. - A user interactively selects a device from a list. - The discovery process concludes in a non-interactive environment (like CI). Update Framework CI to Use NDK r28c (#176214)
Updating Framework CI to use new SDK revision containing NDK r28c. Have to update the flutter.ndkVersion constant in this PR as well otherwise there will be a mismatch in versions. Update AGP/Java/Gradle comparison when using analyze --suggestions (#175808)
Update the maxKnownAndSupported versions of Java (now 26), AGP (from 8.9.1 to 8.13), and Gradle (now 9.1). Add tests for new codepaths and expand existing test coverage. Some typos and changes to aid debugging included as well. AGP 9 was made available for preview last week https://developer.android.com/build/releases/agp-preview. Fix null value reference in flutter logs path (#173437)
The `flutter logs` path for a module does not pass the buildInfo to the `fromAndroidProject` function. This will cause an exception to be thrown when `buildInfo!` is invoked. Instead, just allow the buildInfo to be null and check for the manifest with the code that already exists. [android][tool] Consolidate minimum versions for android projects. (#171965)
I discovered we had a duplicate entry for what the min sdk api level flutter supports along with duplicate code for telling the user. This pr keeps the duplicate warnings but removed duplicate definitions. Updates the related tests Updates workflow_test and android_workflow to compare against the compile sdk version since the validation was ensuring that the lastest of the installed sdks was at least what was needed for flutter to compile. This make this pr more than a formatting/refactoring change and an actual user facing change. Improve robustness of comment detection when using flutter analyze --suggestions (#172977)
Fixes #172055 ~For some reason a trailing slash at the end of a comment or a line below the commented out line that otherwise would match would cause the regex to match that should be ignored.~ ~I could not reason about why the trailing slash would cause a match but the primary change apart from more robust tests is adding `^\s*` which pins the match on lines that start with some amount of space before excluding lines that use `//`~ The regex was overbroad at matching and we were getting lucky that the second "version" was the one being selected a trailing slash broke the overbroad match and selected the smaller match that was inside the comment. The new fix was to pin the multi line regex to the start of a line that way we can still handle newlines in the definition while ensuring that commented out lines are not included. The bug was for AGP version in plugins but the fix was applied to all of the regular expressions in this area of code along with adversarial units tests to prevent regression. [ Tool ] Enable omit_obvious_*_types and specify_nonobvious_*_types lints (#172018)
Sources under `packages/flutter_tools/` aren't accessible to the average Flutter user by navigating through sources from their projects, so it doesn't need to be as explicitly verbose with types for readability purposes. The `always_specify_types` lint results in extremely verbose code within the tool which adds little value. This change disables `always_specify_types` in favor of a new set of lints that aim to reduce verbosity by removing obvious types while also maintaining readability in cases where variable types otherwise wouldn't be obvious: - `omit_obvious_local_variable_types` - `omit_obvious_property_types` - `specify_nonobvious_local_variable_types` - `specify_nonobvious_property_types` |

Some like https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/171397 can be fixed by annotations and calling new methods. Adds getters for different formats of build mode name (#170251)
Build mode names are commonly formatted in a couple of ways. To standardize it, this PR adds a getter for each format. [ Tool ] Remove support for Android x86 targets (#169884)
Dart x86 is deprecated, no longer shipped, and will eventually be removed from the Dart VM. This PR removes the last remaining x86 target, android-x86, from the tool. Work towards https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/157543 and https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160932 |

[tool] Fix broken comment references and code spans in doc comments (#168498)
Enables the `comment_references` and `unintended_html_in_doc_comment` lints in `packages/flutter_tool`, then fixes each of the triggering cases. Replace hardcoded host and app level build.gradle paths with AndroidProject-level getters in gradle_errors.dart (#167949)
this PR refactors the usage of :
-
`project.directory.childDirectory('android').childDirectory('app').childFile('build.gradle')`
to
`project.android.appGradleFile`
-
`project.directory.childDirectory('android').childFile('build.gradle')`
to `project.android.hostAppGradleFile`
to include the cases of usage of `build.gradle.kts` in new templates
which may may produce confusing errors to new devs

Bumping Framework Default TargetSdk to 36 (#168577)
Bumped `targetsdk` to Android API 36 in a different PR in case we have to rollback this change.
