Update the AccessibilityPlugin::Announce method to account for the view (#172669)
## What's new? - The accessibility "announce" method now takes a `view_id` - The `view_id` is used to lookup the corresponding `FlutterView` in the win32 embedder - Updated the associated tests ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [x] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [x] I signed the [CLA]. - [x] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [x] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. --------- Co-authored-by: Loïc Sharma <737941+loic-sharma@users.noreply.github.com> |

[a11y] : set isFocused will update isFocusable to true (#170935)
the isFocused and isFocusable flags should be more consistent, this is also to prepare for https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/170696 , So all EditableText and TextField widgets will have isFocusable flag set to true now. Add SemanticsLabelBuilder for Accessible Label Concatenation (#171683)
## Description Please check comment: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/171040#issuecomment-3014250567. This PR adds `SemanticsLabelBuilder`, a new utility class for creating accessible concatenated labels with proper text direction handling and spacing. Currently, developers manually concatenate semantic labels using string interpolation, which is error-prone and leads to accessibility issues like missing spaces, incorrect text direction for RTL languages. The new builder provides automatic spacing, Unicode bidirectional text embedding for mixed LTR/RTL content. ### Before (error-prone manual concatenation): ```dart // Missing space String label = "$firstName$lastName"; // "JohnDoe" String englishText = "Welcome"; String arabicText = "مرحبا"; // Arabic "Hello" // Manual Concatenation (WITHOUT Unicode embedding): aria-label="Welcome 欢迎 مرحبا स्वागत है to our global app" // Problem: Arabic does not have proper text direction handling ``` ### After (automatic and accessible): Demo app after the change: https://label-0702.web.app/ ```dart // Automatic spacing and text direction handling final label = (SemanticsLabelBuilder() ..addPart(firstName) ..addPart(lastName)).build(); // Result: "John Doe" with proper aria-label generation // SemanticsLabelBuilder (WITH Unicode embedding): aria-label="Welcome 欢迎 [U+202B]مرحبا[U+202C] स्वागत है to our global app" // Result: Arabic has proper text direction handling ``` ## Issues Fixed This fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/162094. This PR addresses the general accessibility problem of error-prone manual label concatenation that affects screen reader users. While not fixing a specific filed issue, it provides a robust solution for the common pattern of building complex semantic labels that are critical for accessibility compliance, particularly for multilingual applications and complex UI components like contact cards, dashboards, and e-commerce listings. ## Breaking Changes No breaking changes were made. This is a purely additive API that doesn't modify existing behavior or require any migration. ## Key Features Added - **SemanticsLabelBuilder**: Main builder class for concatenating text parts - **Automatic spacing**: Configurable separators with intelligent empty part handling - **Text direction support**: Unicode bidirectional embedding for RTL/LTR mixed content ## Example Usage ```dart // Basic usage final label = (SemanticsLabelBuilder() ..addPart('Contact') ..addPart('John Doe') ..addPart('Phone: +1-555-0123')).build(); // Result: "Contact John Doe Phone: +1-555-0123" // Custom separator final label = (SemanticsLabelBuilder(separator: ', ') ..addPart('Name: Alice') ..addPart('Status: Online')).build(); // Result: "Name: Alice, Status: Online" // Multilingual support final label = (SemanticsLabelBuilder(textDirection: TextDirection.ltr) ..addPart('Welcome', textDirection: TextDirection.ltr) ..addPart('مرحبا', textDirection: TextDirection.rtl) ..addPart('to our app')).build(); // Result: "Welcome مرحبا to our app" (with proper RTL embedding) ``` ``` ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. --------- Co-authored-by: Mouad Debbar <mouad.debbar@gmail.com> |

Add back "Use live region in error text input decorator for Android #165531" (#168992)
Partly of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/165510 ⤴️ Parent PR: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/169685 (✅ Merged) ⤴️ Parent PR (refactor): https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/170618 (✅ Merged) Re-lands https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/165531 The PR was originally reverted due to an issue with an internal Google test. I added a new test case under `input_decorator_test.dart` which does something similar to prevent the regression. All other code is the same as https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/165531. The easiest way to review this would probably be to just check the [diff after the first commit]( |

While `liveRegion` announces the first error encountered, subsequent submissions with the same error message on Android would not trigger a re-announcement. **Original Solution:** Pull request https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/123373 addressed this by implementing the `announce` event to ensure error messages were consistently announced, even for repeated submissions. **Native Android Behavior (Jetpack Compose):** In native Android development using Jetpack Compose, setting the `isError` property of a `TextField` to `true` triggers Talkback to announce "Error invalid input." This announcement occurs *only* on the initial change to the error state. Subsequent errors, even if the `isError` property remains `true`, are not re-announced. This behavior closely mirrors the functionality of `liveRegion`, with the key difference being that `liveRegion` also announces the specific error text, in addition to the general error state. Testing in a native Jetpack Compose application confirms this behavior and provides a valuable comparison point against the current Flutter form example. **Suggested Action:** **Fork** the behavior in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/123373. Fix hit-testing order in semantics (#167522)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/163576 In `updateWith()` method, `_replaceChildren()` is called to generate `_children` list. `_children` list is used to generate the hit test order (`childrenInHitTestOrder`). In `_replaceChildren()`, `childrenIn**Inverse**PaintOrder` is directly assigned to _children, so _children itself follows hit test order. So when we generate the `childrenInHitTestOrder`, we don't need to reverse the children again. https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/df9d852f-231e-4480-8d8b-10c1d406f120 ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. |

Wire up MenuAnchor, MenuBar, MenuItem-related widgets to aria roles (#165596)
This PR is to wire up `MenuAnchor` related widgets to SemanticsRole. * When use `MenuAnchor` and a menu is opened, the menu has `SemanticsRole.menu`. * `MenuBar` has `SemanticsRole.menuBar` * `MenuItemButton` has `SemanticsRole.menuItem` * `SubmenuButton` has `SemanticsRole.menuItem` with `aria-haspopup` attribute setup. * `CheckboxMenuButton` has `SemanticsRole.menuItemCheckbox` * `RadioMenuButton` has `SemanticsRole.menuItemRadio` This PR also includes some changes related to `OverlayPortal` and `RawMenuAnchor` so the "button" and the "menu" that the button opens has a "parent-children" relationship. Previously, they are siblings relationship which will cause some navigation issue in a11y. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. |

Fix ISSUE_TEMPLATE Ordering: 10 < 9, but 10 > 09 (#166455)
Unfortunately `10_google3_bug.yml` comes before `2_bug.yml`. This changes the name (slightly) of the issue templates based on the instructions from GitHub on what to do when you have 10+ issue templates (as a side-note: I wonder if we need/still use umbrella bugs for the feature tracker, or two types of performance bugs) |

Add set semantics enabled API and wire iOS a11y bridge (#161265)
fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/158399 old pr https://github.com/flutter/engine/pull/56691 previously the only correct way to enable semantics is that ios embedding receive signal from native OS, it call SetSemanticsEnabled to shell and then to dart to enable semantics tree generation. If for some reason framework decide to enable semantics first, e.g. through SemanticsBinding.instance.ensureSemantics(typically due to integration test or ci that wants to test semantics), the update will be dropped in shell. Even if it later on receive signal from native OS to turn on semantics, it can't construct the complete accessibility tree in embedding because the updatesemantics sends diff update and previous updates are gone forever. It will end up in a broken state. This pr changes so that the only source of truth will be in the framework side. When framework starts generating the the semantics tree, it will call SetSemanticsTreeEnabled through dart:ui, and the embedding needs to prepare itself to accept semantics update after receiving the message. This however require some refactoring on iOS embedding because it will only create a11y bridge when receiving OS notification when assitive technologies turns on. This requires three phase transition add an empty dart:ui API setSemanticsTreeEnabled makes framework calls the empty API. merge this pr with actual implementation of setSemanticsTreeEnabled I will do the android part in a separate pr ## Pre-launch Checklist - [ ] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [ ] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [ ] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [ ] I signed the [CLA]. - [ ] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [ ] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [ ] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [ ] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [ ] All existing and new tests are passing. [Accessibility] Add required semantics flags (#164585)
This adds "required" semantic nodes, which indicate a node that requires user input before a form can be submitted. On Flutter Web, these get converted into [`aria-required` attributes](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-required). Addresses https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/162139 ### Example app _⚠️ This example app includes a `DropdownMenu` which currently produces an incorrect semantics tree. That will be fixed by https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/163638._ Today, you wrap your control in a `Semantics(required: true, child ...)`. For example: <details> <summary>Example app with required semantic flags...</summary> ```dart import 'dart:ui'; import 'package:flutter/material.dart'; import 'package:flutter/semantics.dart'; void main() { runApp(const MyApp()); SemanticsBinding.instance.ensureSemantics(); } class MyApp extends StatelessWidget { const MyApp({super.key}); @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return MaterialApp(home: Scaffold(body: const MyForm())); } } class MyForm extends StatefulWidget { const MyForm({super.key}); @override State<MyForm> createState() => MyFormState(); } class MyFormState extends State<MyForm> { int _dropdownValue = 0; bool _checkboxValue = false; int _radioGroupValue = 0; @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return Column( crossAxisAlignment: [framework]Add semantics role to table rows. (#163337)
**1. framework side:**
This PR Create semantics node for rows in table's
`assembleSemanticsNode` function.
**2. web side:**
I tested on my mac, and i need to remove the
`<flt-semantics-container>` between table and row, row and cell to
traverse inside table, removing those transfom intermediate containers
on web will be a bit of hassle and will be in another separate PR.
For example this code can only announce table but can’t get into cells.
```
<flt-semantics id="flt-semantic-node-4" role="table" style="position: absolute; overflow: visible; width: 751px; height: 56px; transform-origin: 0px 0px 0px; transform: matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 56); pointer-events: none; z-index: 1;">
<flt-semantics-container style="position: absolute; pointer-events: none; top: 0px; left: 0px;">
<flt-semantics id="flt-semantic-node-6" role="row" style="position: absolute; overflow: visible; width: 751px; height: 56px; top: 0px; left: 0px; pointer-events: none;">
<flt-semantics-container style="position: absolute; pointer-events: none; top: 0px; left: 0px;">
<flt-semantics id="flt-semantic-node-5" role="columnheader" aria-label="Name" style="position: absolute; overflow: visible; width: 751px; height: 56px; top: 0px; left: 0px; pointer-events: all;"></flt-semantics>
</flt-semantics-container>
</flt-semantics>
</flt-semantics-container>
</flt-semantics>
```
If I removed the in between `</flt-semantics-container>`, the code come
```
<flt-semantics id="flt-semantic-node-4" role="table" style="position: absolute; overflow: visible; width: 751px; height: 56px; transform-origin: 0px 0px 0px; transform: matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 56); pointer-events: none; z-index: 1;">
<flt-semantics id="flt-semantic-node-6" role="row" style="position: absolute; overflow: visible; width: 751px; height: 56px; top: 0px; left: 0px; pointer-events: none;">
<flt-semantics id="flt-semantic-node-5" role="columnheader" aria-label="Name" style="position: absolute; overflow: visible; width: 751px; height: 56px; top: 0px; left: 0px; pointer-events: all;"></flt-semantics>
</flt-semantics>
</flt-semantics>
```
And I can get into table cells.
**3. Other aria-attributes:**
[aria-colcount](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-colcount) ,[aria-rowcount](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-rowcount)
[aria-colindex](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-colindex)
[aria-rowindex](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-rowindex)
* theres attributes are only needed if some rows and columns are hidden
in the Dom tree. havn't added them yet
aria-rowspan , aria-colspan :
*we currently don't support row span and col span in our widgets.

[A11y] Add radio group role (#164154)
This adds a new "radio group" accessibility role to `dart:ui` and the Flutter web engine. This does not update existing widgets to use this new role. Currently, users must manually add a `Semantics` widget to use this accessibility role. See the example app below. Part of: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/162093 ## Example app <details> <summary>Example app that uses the radio group role...</summary> ```dart import 'dart:ui'; import 'package:flutter/material.dart'; import 'package:flutter/semantics.dart'; void main() { runApp(const RadioExampleApp()); SemanticsBinding.instance.ensureSemantics(); } class RadioExampleApp extends StatelessWidget { const RadioExampleApp({super.key}); @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return MaterialApp( home: Scaffold( appBar: AppBar(title: const Text('Radio Sample')), body: const Center(child: RadioExample()), ), ); } } class RadioExample extends StatefulWidget { const RadioExample({super.key}); @override State<RadioExample> createState() => _RadioExampleState(); } class _RadioExampleState extends State<RadioExample> { int _groupValue = 0; @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return Semantics( label: 'Radio group', role: SemanticsRole.radioGroup, explicitChildNodes: true, child: Column( children: <Widget>[ ListTile( title: const Text('Foo'), leading: Radio<int>( value: 0, groupValue: _groupValue, onChanged: (int? Adds all semantics roles (#163075)
<!-- Thanks for filing a pull request! Reviewers are typically assigned within a week of filing a request. To learn more about code review, see our documentation on Tree Hygiene: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/main/docs/contributing/Tree-hygiene.md --> This pr adds all the roles enum in one go without actually wiring up to framework and engine. It serves the following purposes 1. reduce pr conflict when multiple people working on adding new enum in the list 2. help with IDE and google test as these enum will be added in the latest engine binary after it merge. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [ ] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. Add table related semantics role (#162339)
issue: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/45205 This PR added roles: table,cell,row,columnheader in engine side. Also added table, cell , columnheader in framework widgets `Table` and `DataTable`. This PR didn't add `row` in framework side because right now TableCell is ParentDataWidget expecting its parent to be a Table, tableRow is not a widget or a renderObject, but just some data. If we want to add a role to `row`, we need to do some refactor to `TableCell`, `TableRow` and `Table`. If we need to add row, I will do that in another PR. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [ ] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs.
