[hcpp/hc] Fix talkback for HC and HCPP Android platform views (#168939)
See the description here:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/113626#issuecomment-2884997160

Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/113626

Also, I think we can probably improve the behavior here to respect what
the original view's accessibility importance was, by storing what we are
overwriting at creation time, and then using that later when we undo
what we do at creation time. As is it seems like there would be no way
for a developer to _actually_ set their view to be not important for
accessibility, we are basically forcing them in to auto. Can look into
that in a follow up.

Increase logging around loading of libflutter.so (#168706)
Increase logging around libflutter.so. This adds debug logging to the
ReLinker load call as well as more logging in the error case. The split
and source dirs are added to the error message to improve
troubleshooting in the app bundle case. This does not fix the error of
not finding the libflutter.so file, just increases logging to hopefully
help devs find their problem.

Also, this fixes the unit tests which were not correctly getting the
exception in the given test.

Fixes: #168272

This change reverts the following previous change:
Resolves partly https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/165510

**Context:** This issue originates from
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/99715, where it was reported
that `liveRegion` alone was insufficient for announcing form validation
errors. While `liveRegion` announces the first error encountered,
subsequent submissions with the same error message on Android would not
trigger a re-announcement.

**Original Solution:** Pull request
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/123373 addressed this by
implementing the `announce` event to ensure error messages were
consistently announced, even for repeated submissions.

**Native Android Behavior (Jetpack Compose):** In native Android
development using Jetpack Compose, setting the `isError` property of a
`TextField` to `true` triggers Talkback to announce "Error invalid
input." This announcement occurs *only* on the initial change to the
error state. Subsequent errors, even if the `isError` property remains
`true`, are not re-announced. This behavior closely mirrors the
functionality of `liveRegion`, with the key difference being that
`liveRegion` also announces the specific error text, in addition to the
general error state. Testing in a native Jetpack Compose application
confirms this behavior and provides a valuable comparison point against
the current Flutter form example.

**Suggested Action:** **Fork** the behavior in
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/123373. Reinstate the use of
`liveRegion` for error announcements within `widgets/Form` for Android
and keep other platforms the same.

Fixed Android Lint Errors (#168613)
Fixes blocking warnings on Flutter Roll. Also should fix red tree.

Had to add `@RequiresApi` annotations at the function level due to usage
and requirements of Android functions. This happened because I removed
`@TargetApi` at the class level due to conflicts within the class. It
seems that the `@TargetApi` annotation can no longer be used.

Update Engine to Android 16 (API 36) (#166796)
Following the directions
[here](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/main/docs/platforms/android/Upgrading-Engine's-Android-API-version.md)
to update engine to android 16.

1. Uploaded api 36 SDK to CIPD using the script from the above docs
2. Updates in Engine to use api 36
     - Updated buildroot
     - Updated SDK CIPD package in `DEPS`
     - Updated android build tools
     - Updated `targetsdk` and `compilesdk`
3. Confirm the engine sucessfully builds. I ran `et build -c
android_debug_unopt_arm64`
4. Bumped the gradle version in this PR due to seeing this warning
[here](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/docs/platforms/android/New-Android-version.md#:~:text=Update%20Gradle/AGP%20support).

Note: Post mono-repo merge, we can now update buildroot and `DEPS` in
the same PR 🎊 !!! Also, updated the Clang path due to use of a new Clang
version in the bumped ndk.

Partially Addresses #166950

[Android] Implement setting sensitive content, take 2 (#167815)
> [!NOTE]
> This PR lands https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/158473 (closed
due to confusing git-isms). Please see that PR for all comments and
discussion on landing this feature.

### Overview
Implements setting content sensitivity on Android via a new widget
called `SensitiveContent` that currently will only function on Android.

### How it's implemented
There are three different content sensitivity levels:
[`autoSensitive`](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/View#CONTENT_SENSITIVITY_AUTO),
[`sensitive`](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/View#CONTENT_SENSITIVITY_SENSITIVE),
[`notSensitive`](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/View#CONTENT_SENSITIVITY_NOT_SENSITIVE).
All except `autoSensitive` behave as their Android counterpart level
behaves (see links on the levels); for Flutter, `autoSensitive` will
behave the same as `notSensitive` though it is implemented as if it
works (see https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160879 for more
details.

In any given Flutter view, each `SensitiveContent` widget sets a content
sensitivity level and there may be multiple `SensitiveContent` widgets
in the widget tree at a time, but only the most severe content
sensitivity level in the tree will be maintained in order to ensure
secure content remains obscured during screen projection. This means
that even widgets that are not visible may still impact the overall
content sensitivity of the entire Flutter view (see
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160051 for more details).

Under the hood, the implementation uses method channels. Theoretically,
this could cause a delay in setting the content sensitivity level and a
Flutter view being obscured during screen projection on time, so we will
investigate using JNIgen in the future (see
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160050 for more details). Over
the method channel, the framework will send a Flutter view ID and
content sensitivity level to the engine to set the expected content
sensitivity level for the view.

### Timeline

#### Required for feature shipping
- Land this PR with the method channel implementation of content
sensitivity.

#### Short-term follow up tasks
- Ensure every `FlutterView` has a unique ID for the native
`SensitiveContentPlugin` to identify them by:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/162685
- Add `SensitiveContent` widget to relevant Flutter widgets:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/167302

#### Long-term follow up tasks
- Convert this PR to use JNIgen:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160050. Verify no frames are
dropped, revealing sensitive content during media projection:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/164820.

#### Stretch goals
- Make the `SensitiveContent` widget sensitive to the visibility of
child widgets: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160051
- Implement `autoSensitivity` mode:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160879
- Investigate backwards compatibility for APIs < 35:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/159208

### Open questions
- ~Is it okay to hard-code the `FlutterActivity` and `FlutterFragment`
view IDs? Does this impact add-to-app in any way? I assume we would need
extenders of those classes to use a different view ID than the hardcoded
one.~ Approach not used.
- ~Should we expose `autoSensitive` for now? If so, what behavior should
it have?~ Exposing `autoSensitive` as if it works.

### One way to test this PR (rough steps)
1. Create a Flutter app that has some number of `SensitiveContent`
widgets.
9. Run the app on an emulator/device that runs API 35 and has the Google
meets app downloaded.
10. Start a Google meets meeting and screen share (works with full
screen and single app mode).
11. Join the Google meets meeting from another device and witness a
blacked out screen if content has been marked sensitive.

Impeller will stroke paths directly from the original path via iteration (#167422)
Currently stroking paths in Impeller goes through a few steps:

- [Once per path object, if reused] If necessary, convert a source Skia
path to an Impeller path
- Ask the Impeller path object to create a polyline, with only line
segments each potentially marked as "coming from a curve"
- Widen the polyline treating curves specially
- render the widened vertex list

This PR attempts to streamline that process by iterating the original
curve and widening the strokes from that. It will require no conversion
of the path from SkPath to impeller::Path (if it was created as an
SkPath as is done for all ui.Path objects). It also avoids the
intermediate polyline stage. It will also produce fewer outline vertices
since it attempts to recognize which vertices are produced by the prior
and future line segments and avoid duplicating them.

[Impeller] reland: defer impeller context initialization onto the raster thread. (#167765)
Attempt to speed up vulkan startup by ensuring vulkan driver
initialization happens on raster thread. Prev. we immediately
initialized the impeller::Context, unfortunately setting up the vulkan
context can take upwards of 100ms. This time is running on the platform
thread and blocking startup.

Instead, I attempt to hide/defer as much as possible what backend is
being used - this requires us to access the impeller context via a
shared_future in some cases instead of immediately knowing it is valid.

Update platform views documentation with 4 standard names and abbreviations (#167752)
After talking with @gmackall we are going to try to standardize on

Virtual Display (VD)
Hybrid Composition (HC)
Texture Layer Hybrid Composition (TLHC)
Hybrid Composition++ (HCPP)

for our documentation covering android platform views and how we
describe the code to each other.

For example HC++ would be discouraged, so would referring to HC as
expensive.

This pr also removes TargetSdk since that annotation has been deprecated
for a number of years and can be wholly replaced by the already used
RequiresApi annotations.

1. engine/src/flutter/lib/gpu/pubspec.yaml, I didnt want this pr to
update code that could need to be reverted and I didnt know what to do

1. engine/src/flutter/build/zip_bundle.gni I wasnt sure how to test my

Reland "Reduce app startup latency by initializing the engine on a separate thread (#166918)" (#167519)
This includes a fix for a race seen in
EmbedderTest.PlatformThreadIsolatesWithCustomPlatformTaskRunner

The implementaion of MergedPlatformUIThread::kMergeAfterLaunch required
changing the interface of the TaskObserverAdd/TaskObserverRemove
callbacks so that TaskObserverAdd returned the TaskQueueId where the
observer was added. That TaskQueueId would later be given to
TaskObserverRemove.

The original implementation of this PR updated the embedder library's
implementation of TaskObserverAdd to return TaskQueueId::kInvalid to
signal that the observer was not added. However, this conflicted with
the embedder's EmbedderTaskRunner, whose implementation of
GetTaskQueueId returns TaskQueueId::kInvalid as a placeholder.

This PR reverts the embedder's TaskObserverAdd/TaskObserverRemove to the
original implementation which adds the observer to the current thread's
message loop and does not call GetTaskQueueId.

Reduce app startup latency by initializing the engine on a separate thread (#166918)
If settings.merged_platform_ui_thread is set to kMergeAfterLaunch, then
the engine will be started on the UI thread. After engine setup
completes and the Dart isolate is loaded, the UI task runner will be
merged into the platform thread and all future Dart execution will run
on the platform thread.

This makes it possible for other work to run on the platform thread
while the engine starts.

This PR adds support for language hints in TextFields.
This is supported only on Android for the moment and the property name,

Migrate in-comment links of the flutter/engine repository to the flutter/flutter repository (#166790)
This PR migrates almost all in-comment links that points to the main
branch of flutter/engine repository to the flutter/flutter repository,
ensuring that such links are always up to date.

I've manually verified that all links are valid. There are a few cases
where the migration is not so trivial and I had to look up for the
updated location or line number, but I'm pretty sure the new value is
correct.

The only place that I don't know how to migrate is two links in
[Upgrading-pre-1.12-Android-projects.md](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/docs/platforms/android/Upgrading-pre-1.12-Android-projects.md)
pointing to
`https://github.com/flutter/engine/blob/main/shell/platform/android/io/flutter/app/FlutterActivity.java`,
which I guess no longer exists.

There are still many links that point to a specific branch or revision
of the engine repo. I don't think we need to migrate these links, since
they're probably not meant to be kept up to date.

[android] only release background image readers on Android 14. (#165942)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/163561
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/156488
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/156489
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/163520

Forked from https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/163692

Only release background image readers on Android 14. I believe reader
disposal is the ultimate cause of
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/162147 , where older android
devices don't seem to handle backgrounding the same way we expect on
newer devices. The result of this is a crash in HWUI, which is
unexpected.

Since we only ever did the background release to work around an ANdroid
14 bug, and because it breaks other functionality like background
playback - we should remove it for all targets besides 14.

Remove problematic stream usage from FlutterView (#162024)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160945.

We should figure out why this stream usage is problematic. See the
comment here
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/160945#issuecomment-2590938971,
that from what I can tell from Android docs it _shouldn't_ be
problematic. But it is causing crashes, and I think it is reasonable to
change it so that it doesn't cause crashes, until we can figure out how
to stop the crashes.

design doc:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/19I6ToHCMlSgSava-niFWzMLGJEAd-rYiBQEGOMu8IJg/edit?tab=t.0

This puts an experimental line drawing approach behind the following
flags:
  - iOS: `FLTAntialiasLines` boolean, default NO
- Android: `io.flutter.embedding.android.ImpellerAntialiasLines`
boolean, default false

Right now they just support DrawLines and don't support line caps.

A test was added that works as a playground for vulkan, opengles and
metal. Only the Metal version was turned into a golden test though here.

(#112207) Adding view_id parameter to DispatchSemanticsAction and UpdateSemantics (#164577)
fixes #112207

## What's new?
- Added a `view_id` on `UpdateSemantics`
- Added a `view_id` on `DispatchSemanticsAction`
- Piped the `view_id` all over creation
- Updated tests for these actions across the different platforms
- Added `FlutterEngineSendSemanticsAction` to the embedder API in order
to not break `FlutterEngineDispatchSemanticsAction`
- Using this view ID properly on the Windows platform (see
`engine/src/flutter/shell/platform/windows/flutter_windows_engine.cc`)

## How to test
1. Checkout
[foundation-plus-framework](https://github.com/canonical/flutter/pull/36)
from canonical/flutter
2. Merge this branch into it
3. Enable the "Narrator" screen reader on windows
4. Run the Multi window reference app (see
[PR](https://github.com/canonical/flutter/pull/36) for details)
5. Open up another window, and note that the right buttons and things
are being highlighted, as the screenreader would expect 🎉

deprecate Android announcement events and add deprecation warning. (#165195)
Due to this [Android

Flutter needs to show deprecation warnings to developers when using

Unfortunately testing this log statement is impossible since robolectric

https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/165220 will add the test code
in once robolectric supports 36.

[DisplayList] DlPath supports generic path dispatching (#164753)
There are different ways to iterate over an SkPath or an impeller::Path
and various points in the engine source tree we have boilerplate
duplicates of this code to transfer the contents of the DlPath wrapper
object into some platform-specific path. This PR adds a
dispatch/receiver mechanism to read back the contents of a DlPath -
independent of whether it is backed by an SkPath or an impeller::Path -
in a simpler form that avoids potential mistakes in the various
conversion methods.

[Accessibility] Add required semantics flags (#164585)
This adds "required" semantic nodes, which indicate a node that requires
user input before a form can be submitted.

On Flutter Web, these get converted into [`aria-required`
attributes](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Attributes/aria-required).

Addresses https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/162139

### Example app

_⚠️ This example app includes a `DropdownMenu` which currently produces
an incorrect semantics tree. That will be fixed by
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/163638._

Today, you wrap your control in a `Semantics(required: true, child
...)`. For example:

<details>
<summary>Example app with required semantic flags...</summary>

```dart
import 'dart:ui';
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
In the future, we can update Material and Cupertino widgets to
automatically make their semantics node required when desirable.
[Impeller] Enable mediatek on API 34+. (#165156)
Most of the reported Mediatek issues are API 29/30, maybe up to 31. By
34 it should work, and the mokey device we have works fine with Vulkan
and runs on CI. This is necessary to allow MediaTek devices to use HCPP
without us having to write a new rendering surface abstraction for GL.
This does _not_ enable PowerVR, which is still denylisted in the vulkan
backend.
Change fallback behavior for devices pre API 29 to Skia regardless of Impeller state. (#165075)
There are currently a large amount of crashes coming from older devices
that we don't have good test coverage for. For now, lets remove the
fallback to ImpellerGLES on old devices and instead use SkiaGLES, which
we know from experience works on these older devices.
Write macOS universal gen_snapshot binaries to a separate output directory (#164667)
Also use the name "gen_snapshot" when building for Android targets
instead of appending a target architecture to the filename.
This allows flutter_tools to find the universal gen_snapshot binary when
using a locally built engine. Previously the tools would search
directories like "clang_x64" and find build outputs that may not match
the host architecture.
Moving the universal gen_snapshot binary to a separate directory avoids
conflicts with Dart's gen_snapshot binary, which is placed at the root
of the target output directory.
