Implement macOS wide gamut (Display P3) support (#181769)
Adds wide gamut color support to macOS (matching iOS), upgrades the surface pixel format from 10-bit BGRA10_XR to 16-bit float RGBA16Float on both iOS and macOS when enabled, and fixes Impeller's blur filter P3 clamping on macOS. **macOS Wide Gamut Support** - Added DoesHardwareSupportWideGamut() hardware capability check (MTLGPUFamilyApple2 or MTLGPUFamilyMac2) - Wide gamut enabled when both hardware supports it and FLTEnableWideGamut plist flag is YES - Dynamic wide gamut switching when windows move between P3 and sRGB displays - Added flutter/screenshot method channel on macOS for integration testing **RGBA16Float Surface Format (iOS + macOS)** - macOS IOSurface: kCVPixelFormatType_64RGBAHalf + MTLPixelFormatRGBA16Float - iOS CAMetalLayer: MTLPixelFormatRGBA16Float - Image decoder: always uses kRGBA_F16_SkColorType for all wide gamut images (previously only transparent images used 16-bit) **Fix Blur P3 Clamping on macOS** macOS uses the compositor/embedder path, not GPUSurfaceMetalImpeller, so UpdateOffscreenLayerPixelFormat was never called. Added the call in embedder.cc after wrapping the Metal resolve texture. **Why RGBA16Float over BGRA10_XR?** BGRA10_XR has only 10 bits per channel — values outside sRGB gamut get clamped in intermediate render targets (e.g. blur filters). RGBA16Float has 16 bits per channel with full floating-point range, preventing P3 color clamping in multi-pass rendering. **Tests** - 9 new iOS FlutterView unit tests verifying RGBA16Float pixel format and extended sRGB color space - Updated macOS FlutterSurfaceManagerTest for RGBA16Float, dynamic switching, color space, and pixel format verification - Updated image decoder and Impeller display list tests for kR16G16B16A16Float - 11 macOS/iOS integration tests: image, saveLayer, codecImage, none, blur, drawnImage, container, linearGradient, radialGradient, conicalGradient, sweepGradient ### Issues https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/164557 ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I read the [Tree Hygiene] wiki page, which explains my responsibilities. - [x] I read and followed the [Flutter Style Guide], including [Features we expect every widget to implement]. - [x] I signed the [CLA]. - [x] I listed at least one issue that this PR fixes in the description above. - [x] I updated/added relevant documentation (doc comments with `///`). - [x] I added new tests to check the change I am making, or this PR is [test-exempt]. - [ ] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [ ] All existing and new tests are passing. |

Deprecate onReorder callback (#178242)
This pull request deprecates the old `onReorder` callback of `ReorderableList` / `SliverReorderableList` / `ReorderableListView`, in favor of a new callback, `onReorderItem`, that does the index correction as mentioned in the docs at https://api.flutter.dev/flutter/widgets/ReorderCallback.html I added tests to ensure that the old callback is preferred when both are provided and tests that assert that the new callback does the index correction correctly. I also noticed that some tests used empty callbacks for `onReorder`, those have been updated to use wildcards in a consistent manner. I did not opt into making a design doc, since the change itself is very small, that will also be apparent in the migration guide that I am going to write. [ Widget Preview ] Fix crash when @Preview annotations appeared outside of lib/ (#180768)
The widget preview scaffold requires that previews are defined within importable libraries. Since Dart does not support absolute paths for imports or relative imports outside of the project, it's not possible for the widget previewer to display previews defined outside of `lib/`. This change updates the preview detector to ignore libraries that don't have a package name (e.g., libraries under `test/`) and updates `packageName` properties to not allow for null to make it clear that package names are required for previews. fix(windows): use wcsnlen for defensive programming (CWE-126) (#180419)
## Description This PR replaces `wcslen` with `wcsnlen` in the Windows runner template and all example/dev/integration test files to address CWE-126 (Buffer Over-read) flagged by static analysis tools (Semgrep/GitLab SAST). ## Changes The `Utf8FromUtf16` function now uses `wcsnlen` with the `UNICODE_STRING_MAX_CHARS` constant (32767) as the maximum length, providing defensive programming against potential buffer over-reads. **Key improvements:** 1. Calculate `input_length` **first** using `wcsnlen(utf16_string, UNICODE_STRING_MAX_CHARS)` 2. Use that bounded length for **both** `WideCharToMultiByte` calls (eliminates the `-1` unbounded read) 3. Remove the `-1` adjustment since explicit length excludes null terminator 4. Use `static_cast` instead of C-style casts per Google C++ Style Guide ## Test Coverage Added comprehensive edge case tests for `Utf8FromUtf16` in `windows_startup_test`: - **nullptr input**: Verifies function returns empty string - **Empty string input**: Verifies function returns empty string - **Invalid UTF-16 (unpaired surrogate)**: Verifies function handles malformed input gracefully These tests address reviewer feedback from @loic-sharma requesting coverage for corner cases. ## Files Updated **Template (source of truth):** - `packages/flutter_tools/templates/app/windows.tmpl/runner/utils.cpp` **Integration tests (4 files):** - `dev/integration_tests/flutter_gallery/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/ui/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/windowing_test/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/windows/runner/utils.cpp` **Examples and dev apps (10 files):** - `examples/hello_world/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/layers/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/platform_view/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/flutter_view/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/platform_channel/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/api/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `examples/multiple_windows/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/manual_tests/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/benchmarks/complex_layout/windows/runner/utils.cpp` - `dev/a11y_assessments/windows/runner/utils.cpp` **Test files (4 files):** - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/windows/runner/flutter_window.cpp` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/lib/main.dart` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/lib/windows.dart` - `dev/integration_tests/windows_startup_test/test_driver/main_test.dart` ## Rationale While the Windows API guarantees null-termination for strings returned by `CommandLineToArgvW`, using `wcsnlen` with an explicit bound is a defensive programming best practice that: - Satisfies static analysis tools - Provides an extra safety layer - Follows the principle of defense in depth The limit of 32767 (`UNICODE_STRING_MAX_CHARS`) is the maximum length of a `UNICODE_STRING` structure and is far beyond any realistic command-line argument length. ## Related Issues Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/180418 ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and labeled this PR with `severe: API break` if it contains a breaking change. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. Manually roll test dependencies (#180886)
Manually updating test dependencies because the pub autoroller seems busted, https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/180503. This one required manually updating the pubspec files because `flutter update-packages --force-upgrade` also seemed unable to deal with the fact that multiple dependencies across packages had to be updated in sync. There's probably also something broken with the `flutter update-packages` command. This is something that used to work. |

Run hook_user_defines and link_hook integration tests on CI (#180622)
Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/180575. As per the [readme](https://github.com/flutter/flutter/blob/master/dev/integration_tests/README.md#:~:text=Adding%20code%20to%20this%20directory%20will%20not%20automatically%20cause%20it%20to%20be%20run%20by%20any%20already%20existing%20ci%20tooling.), tests in dev/integration_tests are not automatically run on CI: > Adding code to this directory will not automatically cause it to be run by any already existing ci tooling. This PR fixes the problem by running the `hook_user_defines` and `link_hook` integration tests as part of the tools integration test shard. One of the tests actually broke while it wasn't running on CI. This is fixed by removing it from the workspace to ensure the local user-defines in its pubspec are applied. |

Platform View Hide/Show Integration test (#179902)
Adds an integration test that would have caught the issue with https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/176063 The test is simple. It hides, shows, then hides at platform view. If the issue is present, the UI will be come frozen and the button text will not correctly update. So you'll see no platform view showing, but the button will read, "Hide Platform View" instead of "Show Platform View". Checking this through the FlutterDriver is not enough (because the widget tree is updated). The actual UI rendered to the Android device needs to be checked (thus the golden screenshot is necessary). Adding this integration test should ensure content sizing does not cause this issue again. Test failing with Content Sizing changes: [PlatformView Integration Test Failing.webm](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/c6b5f5e9-1856-4baf-a425-b4d2a38b8d57) Test passing with Content Sizing changes w/fix: [PlatformView Integration Test Passing.webm](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/104acd01-895e-4321-881b-fe5aa2d96d63) ## Pre-launch Checklist - [X] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [X] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [X] All existing and new tests are passing. |

<!-- start_original_pr_link --> Reverts: flutter/flutter#179647 <!-- end_original_pr_link --> <!-- start_initiating_author --> Initiated by: gmackall <!-- end_initiating_author --> <!-- start_revert_reason --> Reason for reverting: Mac_mokey run_release_test failing <!-- end_revert_reason --> <!-- start_original_pr_author --> Original PR Author: gmackall <!-- end_original_pr_author --> <!-- start_reviewers --> Reviewed By: {reidbaker, jtmcdole} <!-- end_reviewers --> <!-- start_revert_body --> This change reverts the following previous change: Changes our cipd hosted android sdk+ndk bundle to no longer modify directory structure from what Android directly provides, allowing AGP to find the ndk automatically and preventing downloading. 1. Changes the `create_cipd_packages.sh` script so we don't move the ndk 2. Uses the new script to upload a [36v4unmodified](https://chrome-infra-packages.appspot.com/p/flutter/android/sdk/all/linux-amd64/+/version:36v4unmodified) bundle 3. Changes DEPS+ci.yaml to reference the new bundle 4. Changes GN build rules accordingly 5. Removes special config in existing build.gradle files to point at the location of the ndk - agp should now know where it is without conig 6. For some tests, passes in an environment variable pointing to the ndk location, to override the environment variable passed by the recipes. This variable is respected by the tool, so the recipes passing it, pointing to the wrong place, is problematic. After this change lands we can stop passing it in the recipes, and then we can remove this special config in the tests. But adding it temporarily allows us to make this change without coordinating a recipes change at the same moment, and probably breaking things out of band. [ios] Reland Dynamic Content Resizing (#179153)
This is a reland of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/177410 The previous pr was hitting deadlocks with tests that use screenshots. This reland fixes it by submitting frames asynchronously instead of synchronously. This PR fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/169147 This is the iOS implementation of https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/149033 In Add-to-App scenarios, a common desired use case is to have the embedded FlutterView be able to size itself based on it's content. Up till now, the size had to be manually specified, which can be tedious and inaccurate. This PR adds a new flag, `isAutoResizable`, which enables the ability for the embedded flutter view to dynamically set it's own size based off it's content. Note that this feature will *NOT* work if the the embedded app is wrapped in flexible or unsized widgets, such as Scaffold. The FlutterView will just not display at all. To use the new flag, just set it like ``` flutterViewController.autoResizable = true; ``` or in Swift ``` flutterViewController.isAutoResizable = true ``` ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. |

[ios] Dynamic Content Resizing (#177410)
- [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing. |

Manually roll material_color_utilities (#170000)
This updates Flutter to the latest release, which includes a bunch of code cleanup that should improve compiled code size and (hopefully) runtime performance. The changes in https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/153385 (discussed in https://docs.flutter.dev/release/breaking-changes/material-design-3-token-update) seem to have been incomplete. This PR effectively catches up with these changes by updating the "math" behind primary, secondary, tertiary, error colors. There is a pending PR on the site to update the corresponding docs: https://github.com/flutter/website/pull/12125 Fixes https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/177285 |

The last PR added logs https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/178005/ And we can now see: https://logs.chromium.org/logs/flutter/buildbucket/cr-buildbucket/8699078049543853521/+/u/run_android_verified_input_test/stdout ``` [2025-11-04 18:33:56.587985] [STDOUT] stdout: [+2998 ms] Expected: <0> [2025-11-04 18:33:56.588075] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] Actual: <1> [2025-11-04 18:33:56.588106] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] Stdout: [2025-11-04 18:33:56.588135] [STDOUT] stdout: [ ] Stderr: adb server version (41) doesn't match this client (39); killing... ``` The test was directly invoking adb (using whatever is on the path), while the devicelab harness has a more complicated way of finding adb and then invoking it directly. So it seems they have found different adb versions. This pr pipes the devicelab adb path through to the individual test, so the test can reference the same adb, and then uses it. This is again sort of an abuse of this environment map (if one of the tests decided to use these environment variables we would be in a weird state), but I think it isn't too bad, and again I think it is reasonable because any android devicelab test may wish to use adb, so this solution isn't hyper specific to the problem. ## Pre-launch Checklist - [x] I read the [Contributor Guide] and followed the process outlined there for submitting PRs. - [x] I followed the [breaking change policy] and added [Data Driven Fixes] where supported. - [x] All existing and new tests are passing.
